The Killing Of A Dove

Fashioned to enhance all that is beauty in life
carved gently by the greatest sculpture’s knife
this enigmatic creation draughted from above,
this woman prepared softly and made for love.
Soon tiptoeing in virtue before she naively ran
in youthful trust, into a treachery called man!
But when one man touched her innocent mind
his white office kept her young spirit confined.
For his peace she flew under a clandestine sky
until his rank caused waves she couldn’t defy.
Passed from that ‘top man’ to his kith n’ kin
their torrid affair was kept secret, well within,
by a younger sibling born with a socialite lust
in a political arena groomed once, then thrust
to wage war on antagonists who commit crime
then, to silence a beauty of the most sublime!
Who was assassinated in bed while still asleep
so that her diary’s secrets in death she keep.
Now, buried in an earthy nest of eternal love
lie flightless feathery tresses of a silent dove!
