A Life Remembered

Author: mikey7777

I was a kid when I turned on the television.
Seen sparklies, songs, and was amazed with a dancing decision.
Use to sing along, and wear that red jacket.
Use to try to get my mom to buy me the glove, instead I got a magnet.
Stuck it to the fridge, and as time grew.
So did I, but I just knew.
Some day I was going to forget all the positive stuff.
Some day I was going to think to myself, I've had enough.
Those days came and gone.
Till one day you sang one certain song.
Today I watched the passing of a great entertainer.
Today I lived the blessing of a great person of human nature.

There will always be people that are selfish.
There will always be people that are devilish.
There are people who can't find a positive thing to say.
There are people who would rather provide hate to each day.

But there even more that you have inspired.
There are many that will remember you, an your history will be desired.
You came out with many ways to help people.
Even though some have lost track of this, an now they tingle.
Tingling from watching a life that is not lost.
But from remembering a life that now energizes you like NOS.

Sure I can say I forgot how to look at myself in the mirrior.
Sure I can admit sometimes that brings fear.
But as you stated in one particular song that inspired me to change.
That song will always be embedded in my brain.
Many others probally have their favorite songs, or memories as well.
Today is the day that the heavens fell.
To provide you steps for a easy moon walk.
For myself learned a long time ago, and this is more then just a talk.

My birthday was today, but today I watched something on TV.
I watched your ceramony on channel 23.
Today a human was not lost.
But today great music was lost at a great cost.
From the Jackson Five, to a solo artist.
Thank you MJ for allowing us to be a part of this.
A part of the memories, the songs, the tribute.
Thankyou for sharing your life with us from the debute.

About this poem:
I wrote this after watching the tribute to Michael Jackson. Because I think no matter how anyone rethinks it. Either that being positive or negative. I don't actually think there is a single soul alive, that has not smiled at least once because of this person. I myself can recall smiling when I was a kid, and I was amazed at how he did the moon walk..

Greetings!

To say the ONLY truth:
MJ is to Music what Shakespeare is to Literature;
What Albert Einstein is to Modern Science;
What Lord Denin is to Law;
What Martin Luther King Jr. is to Civil Liberties.
What Mohammed Ali is to Boxing.

Michael was as poetic in his Songs, say "Man in the Mirror" or "Human Nature";
He sought the common, basic essence of human relativity to existence, say in his Earth Songs and "We Are The World";
He was a social engineer, trying his best to foster a change of heart in the way we live or just listen to his "Beat It" and "Heal the World ... make it a better place ..."
He was as much of a social crusader in his controversal banter, "... they don't even care about us"!
He was pugnacious and poignantly sent his messages home with "Dont Stop Till You Get enough" and "Wanna Be Starting Something" You can ask the great Hulk Hugan who lifted even the Olympus with that "Wanna Be Starting Something" entrance in the late 80s.

He was a lone ranger-rabble-rowser-cross-the-rubbicon!

Who will not jerk as MJ jumps - only a misanthrope, perhaps.

In Music, he rubbished the records of Elvis Presly and John Lennon put together!

Even Beethoven, Palchelbel, Mozart, Handel or any of the Classic greats would have loved the art of his career.

Argueably, MICHAEL JOSEPH JACKSON is the most popular human being in our time

Amazing poem, thanks for sharing, I feel your heart..and in that I give a prayer to you..

Prayer for Those Who Mourn
Almighty God, Father of all mercies and giver of all comfort: Deal graciously, we pray thee, with those who mourn, that casting every care on thee, they may know the consolation of thy love, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
