I went on a date with a guy I met on a night out, when I ask him about his job ?ver lunch he just said he is in the funeral business. I didn't ask any further questions about his job after that.

lonelygal122: After witnessing firsthand the kindness and compassion these people have for the deceased,I would certainly have no problem in dating one.
Godsgift: Well, is your attitude that anyone who probes the bodies of the dead by night, shall not probe mine by night.

Anyone who knows how to handle a stiff should certainly be good enough to handle me.
Yes, I would absolutely date a funeral director - sadly I have had dealings with one in the past week, and yet again I was lucky enough in all the sadness to come across someone very compassionate and friendly, yet refreshingly straightforward - it made dealing with a terrible loss a tinly little bit more bearable.
I do not understand why anyone would reject these wonderful people, who help others through their darkest times with so much compassion, solely on grounds of their profession.
I would love to date a person involved with the snuffed trade. The fun you could have with the open work day for family would be priceless and you wouldnt go hungry with all the grub they can bring home from a wake..or in the extreme rip an auld leg of a corpse or something and what you cant eat let the dog have ...that is of course only when the zombies have bitten ya ..
Imagine being a kid and getting dropped off to school in a hearse or looking dissapointed at the biology teacher when they ask you to take a animals heart in for disecting
My friend works on the side as a face painter at kiddies parties and hes a mortician so can practice as much as he likes ..business is booming these days but he does worry me when as a kids entertainer he makes it look like he has cut his arm off , with all the ...lets not really go into that
But yes sir eeeee I would love to date a undertaker-ess
Might just kill a few people in the next few weeks to get introduced to them .......
Yes I would ... I expect she'd be a gal with considerable social skills, intelligent, considerate emotionally mature, sensitive, compassionate and assertive. She'd also likely be a great organiser and always on time!
Wonders if there's a Dating Section in the Undertakers Trade mags ???

I'm not sure I would think of it quite like that. I do believe that someone who provides a service like that must surely have humanity and a desire to serve well to those who need it most and are unable to have any control. I see it as very much a compassionate role and, therefore, I would have no problem with dating/having a relationship with someone in that role........
I once was involved with a mortician. I am somewhat embarrassed to say I've done "it" on the slab and had a dead body in a van parked in my drive way over night.
Yeah, I would. Why not. There are worse jobs someone could do.
I did know a female funeral director some time back. She was also a diver but had a strange personality. If you had to buddy up with her, you were basically hosed. She'd say "open ocean" meaning she did her thing and to hell with you if something went wrong with your equipment. (I rather not think she did it to get the business hahaha) but that left a lasting impression about how nonchalant she was when it came to her own or your life.
