Visa, Money, Daddy issues, and aesthetic issues, basically a self image that rules them out of the more conventional age range and then low ball it for older, less picky types. Sounds terrible, but it's the pattern I notice.

Partner's age is a matter of choice.
For me personally, everything where someone could biologically be a parent/kid I find creepy.
I'm also aware enough that someone contacting me who is 15 years younger isn't exactly looking for the love of his life.
Internet dating isn't very realistic - and some people start kidding themselves big times thinking who they could "land" because of all the scammers and visa hunters who are on a site like this (before someone jumps down my throat - I didn't say everyone is).
If you are only looking for a bit of fun or willing to pay for some arm candy, best of luck. Looking at myself when I was younger or now, I was never attracted to someone with a big age gap romantically (I do have friends who are a lot older) and looking at my nieces, they aren't either. There are cultures where females (and some males) want to be looked after financially and if both parties are ok with, best of luck.
Just be realistic and if you want a bit of fun with someone younger, don't kid yourselves and enjoy.

Some people say being kind on internet is a sign of a scammer hahahahahahaha.Personally I am not looking for (fun)at all in a relationship, If I was looking for( fun )in a relationship I would have put my profile in a another way round, that obviously wouldn't reflect me. I don't know how people see me here, but in life I am a very steady guy and in the same time very lay back . There are few things that make me go over the board, that I'm not listing here. Defenetly agree with you on internet is not easy ( obviously because there is no expression involved , but a simple straight forward screen .

I am one of those age gap moralizers - it was horrifying for me to see it, and I although I never said anything to their faces, I certainly get reactive to it.
My father after a divorce from my mother (he was a retired RCAF pilot) was 67 and his new girlfriend then a few years later his wife was 19.
Old men can do that. I can see what you get out of the relationship? and how did she change from thinking of you as "uncle mike"? Not that I wish an answer really - just putting in my personal penny thoughts.

Let's face it , many of us if not every body have seen profile all around the net by a 25 years old looking for a 58 years old.
To my personal view:
It's the first thing that I look in a profile , it's the age range, even before looking at the picture. In this case ( many times ) ,straight away it put's me off....don't even go to ask the name.
Down the line there has to be an ( interest ) from one of the sides or both , so it CAN NOT be love.
Yes I am one of those that say's age does matter.
