pedro27: surely god has some input in exscitence time n all?
Only if you want to believe in him. I personally don't see how God would have anything to do with putting a person in danger.
Would it be down to God that the brakes failed on the oncoming lorry that caused it to veer into my lane, resulting in a fatal head-on crash? No, it would just be bad luck.

Is there a link between God and what happens after we die? Personally, I don't think there's one. We die. Simple as that. That's why we should make the most of what time we have on this planet.

I have been in a situation where my life could have been extinguished if something went wrong. I wasn't afraid, as there's no point in dwelling over something I had no control over. Luckily, it went well and I am in control of my life.
With you being stabbed, and not knowing until you woke in hospital. That's not something you could have run or fought over. You wasn't aware of it until after the fact.

theres were the mystery of life kicks in 2014 and life still moves on . surely history teaches us
I was in a situation where someone kicked the back door of my home in and I was home alone at the time this all took place.I immediately dialed 9-1-1 but the police never showed up until after that person was already gone.If I would have had a gun I would had shot that person in the legs. They could not have got very far with both of their legs blown to pieces.
Later I found out from someone that knew that person well and told me that the person carried a thumb gun.
I've done abit of self defence and being self aware of your surroundings to weigh up the possibitiex of danger but to answer your question pedro I really do not know how I would react in a threatening situation,,,I guess I would just on my instinct at the time.
While I have my thoughts about this, I'm not exactly sure....and probably wouldn't know until a situation actually arose, which I pray it won't! But, it would still depend on the situation; If I was going to be attacked and had a chance to run, I'd run!
If I was walking down the street and was grabbed & dragged off, I would hope I'd have enough wits about me to try and reason with him....if not, and he was attacking me, I'd probably fight back.
If someone broke into my home and wanted to harm me, I would not hesitate to lock, load and aim....1 warning though. If he persisted and came toward me...well, "bang"!
When I was 14 and walking home across a housing estate that was newly built a group of teenager lads were playing football in the street ....for some reason don't know why I picked up a rock and put it in my pocket...when I got past the houses I had to walk along a large area where more houses were just been built ,,,I felt nervous looked behind an this lad pushed me to the ground ,,in that second I just screamed and when he pinned me down somehow I don't know how I managed to break free I just screamed loud and he just got up and swore at me,,when I got home my mam and stepdad asked me was okay I was as white as anything,,she asked me why I had dust all over my jacket and why I never told her about what happend I do not know ,..I learnt later that the guy not right in the head anyway,,ive had a few scary moments of bein followed by a fella on a bike when I was going to visit my nana s grave it was morning time and a fella on the bike cycled past me and then kept looking back and grinning at me...he went into this house near the gateway of the graveyard,,I just continued walking ,,and for some reason I wasn't meant to find my nanna s grave ,there was no one at the cemetery that morning and I just got a bad feeling in me and just legged it out of there, sure enough when I came onto the lane way outside the gates he was making his way towards graveyard and didnt have his bike..I just legged it and went into a driveway of a house,,he must of had his bike in a ditch because I seen him get on it and just cycle off,,he just grinned and I put my two fingers up at him,,I was shaking after it.
