MrRick77: Did Kevin Ward Jr deserve it for being out of his car ?
No he did not deserve it, but at 17 years old, I believe he could not or did not fully understand the true danger of the racing sport.
I believe the racing industry should take this tragedy and bring some good out of it for future racers.
Teenage men believe they are invincible and often "react" before they think. My son who is grown now did a few not-so-smart things when he was around this same age, not because he had not been brought up right, just because of the mindset of most teenagers young men and young ladies as well.
I understand Tony Stewart is an assertive nascar racer, but I believe he would not ever purposely do anything to take the life of anyone, especially a young man who also shared his love for this sport.
I will keep these two men and their families in my prayers and hope that Nascar will step up to the plate in this matter.
I believe the age to compete in this sport should be raised. This is a very enjoyable sport, but it is truly dangerous especially when the tempers flare.
It was a tragedy, yet further more I have never seen a driver get out of their car till AFTER the rest have past by. Tony Stewart didn't intentionally hit him, when things move fast, it was a accident and a very costly one!
No, he didn't deserve it! A terrible tragic accident. I heard this morning that the car in front of Stewart swerved to miss Kevin, so he probably didn't even know the young man had exited his car and there was foot traffic on the track. A yellow flag had just come out, and he should have remained in his car until all the drivers slowed.
