If you watch The Wolf on Wall Street be prepared for every other word to me F or MF or CS. The story was good but I couldn't stand all that trashy talk. I really wasn't necessary to produce a good movie.
American Hustle was good
Kill Bill I and II were good but violent
I watched a movie last night called "Killer Elite" with Jason Statham, Robert de Nero and Clive Owen. It was very good. This movie was also violent but in a different way then Kill Bill.
Among good War Movies, I am presuming you already saw Saving Private Ryan. I strongly recommend if not already seen, The Lost Battalion and if you don't mind subtitles (several languages being spoken in it) My Way (which is a little long, but a damned good story).

Ooooh! 3 hot guys, well Robert De Niro was more when he was younger but he still has that something! Love Clive Owen, he's like a modern day Richard Burton. He should play him in a bio pic.
I can cope with bad language, and violence (you can alway look away for the worst bits) as long as the story and acting is good and I like the actors. Thanks Secret! :)
chatonlyman2: If you have not yet watched Bugslife I highly recommend it.
Aww I think I saw that one. Cute. I don't watch animated movies much, tbh.
I like a good rom com, the ones in the last while not so great though. I went to see Interstellar last week and I'm not even into science fiction. I think Matthew McConnaughy had something to do with it!
Ken_19: After Kill Bill, don't forget Kill Bill 2.

Yeah I saw Saving Private Ryan. Not familiar with the Lost Battalion. I don't mind subtitles except when they are the same colour as the background and you miss bits then!
Dallas Buyers club - Matt McConaugheys most challenging role to date and he does it really well.
In 1985 Dallas, electrician and hustler Ron Woodroof works around the system to help AIDS patients get the medication they need after he is himself diagnosed with the disease.
minnieme2: Ok, fire away and add any others I didn't mention.
Have only seen kill bill from your list. Didn't like it at all, so I didn't bother to go and see the 2. But if you have put on your list kill Bill, I suppose you like martial art films, so I suggest to see one and the only : way of the dragon-bruce Lee. Hands down

Its a great movie and well worth watching..
Thanks DJ. I meant to go and see it at the cinema, but didn't get there for some reason.
My dvd player is broken :( and I must get that cable thingy that connects your laptop to tv, cos I prefer watching movies on a bigger screen. None of the movies I mentioned have been on TV lately.
Being a male raised and trained to go to War (a nuclear war at that) I have probably seen all of the war movies.
Band of Brothers of course is one of the better ones, since it is based on the real thing and real experiences, but you need a whole day to watch it all.
The Lost Battalion lacks the interviews given with Band of Brothers since it took place in the First World War and by the time Hollywood thought of splicing in interviews, those guys were all dead. Nevertheless, it was a real event. My only complaint would be the topography of where they fought and died. I have been to the real life spot and if nothing else, the area they were stuck in is a lot smaller than the movie shows. There is a real life bird in that movie. Since the unit was from NYC, as a child I had to read stories about the battle and also about the bird in question. We (the United States) were/are so grateful to that bird that when she died, we sent her to the taxidermist for stuffing and she is displayed with honor in our Smithsonian Museum. I have seen her there. Almost all of the events in The Lost Battalion went down as depicted. For those men the effects of that battle lasted long after the war ended and there was much lore about them in the days of my father growing up.
My Way is unique. It is one of the very few post war movies displaying World War Two from the perspective of a Japanese soldier. It is based on his capture on the beaches of Normandy. How he got there (a surreal sequence of events) and the transformations the war caused is the story. It suffers from being 3 hours long but without the intermission for a bathroom break. On a DVD that isn't really the problem it would be in a theater. Frankly, I found it to just as powerful a movie as Private Ryan and way better than the HBO Pacific series. Asian movie makers have yet to get the hang of how to show a sub-title. So yes, there are moments in My Way where white letters on a light background become an issue. However, I am fairly pleased that this problem most starts fairly far into the movie, and trust me, by that time you are deep enough into the plot that you should understand precisely what it is someone is saying anyway. Also, with several hours of movie, I think it is a total of about 4 - 6 seconds of conversation you miss. This is a movie where the Japanese man speaks Japanese, the German man speaks German, the Russian guy speaks Russian and on and on, so unless you are a UN translator, subtitles can not be evaded. I also like the battle sequences. Someone went to lot of trouble to make up realistic looking early WW1I Russian tanks of the BT class. The German tanks are also recognizable. I found myself lost in the plot and give My Way 3 thumbs up.

You should watch the back of your eyelids first, it's 6 in the morning there.
Hmmm, Mulholland Drive was terrible, in my opinion, The Wolf of Wall Street and War Horse were both good, and I think the language in the prior was appropriate for the movie, seeing as that's the language they would have actually used. Both parts of Kill Bill were good, but I'm a Tarantino fan, except for Death Proof, although I watched it anyway, seeing as there were cars in it.
One movie I watched recently sticks out in my mind, Once, and I'd recommend it to everyone.
Some of my other fave's are Apocalypse Now, Shakespeare in Love (for the humour ), Heat, African Queen, American Graffiti, Amelie'.....the list goes on. I dislike TV in general, to the point of never having had cable or satellite, but I do enjoy movies.
ken: for all that info. I've heard of Letters to Iwo Jima, that's a Clint Eastwood movie I think. Haven't seen it. Clint's movies are good.
kidatheart: lol, it's enough to see what's in front of me! Once is a great movie and love the song from it "Falling Slowly". Saw Glen Hansard in concert with his band The Frames a good while ago. Of the last few you mentioned, African Queen and Heat (I presume you mean the Al Pacino one), would be my choice.
psygnar: you got me curious now about Mulholland Drive! Thx!
Cuddling Soul: Haven't seen that one I don't think. I'll watch out for it on TV. Thx. I like John Hurt, great actor, more so in other movies though, like Elephant Man and The Field.
minnieme2: bungallow: there was a crooked man who walked a crooked mile... did they find a crooked sixpence? Sounds good though.
postne: that's a fab version of that song! thx! :)
I saw the movie on TV. When she started to sing, I got right up close to the TV to look for signs of wires, gears, lip synching. I could not believe a human could make such a sound.
