Friskyone: Just don't lie about your answer/comment please.
Honesty is high on my list of priorities. Having said that maybe a little white lie to get out of a family gathering. As for arguments, I hate confrontation and would rather walk away than lie. I'm not good at pulling off lies, my face gives me away... every time!
Friskyone: So far these ladies are beautiful on the inside and outside! You go girls!
Sometimes it might be better for all parties involved, to not hurt feelings, save face, etc., if a little white lie is used. Lies used to not-hurt somebody rather than an unnecessary truth that hurts them can sometimes be better.

Ccincy: My parents taught me that if someone were to ask me a direct question to tell the truth.I used to hear that some people just don't want to hear the exact truth.
I wouldn't make a very good political figure cause I couldn't lie good enough to get any votes.
Most political figures do it too well for OUR own good!

Big Porky....Police Officer have you been drinking Sir...answer in slurred way No....Well why the speech impairment...Its because I have a lisp...Officer confounded well Sir have a safe journey home..(True) and yes this was in my early years as a driver..drink driving is a No No and I learnt my lesson.
I thought the expression 'white lies' went out in the 80's?
It's not an expression I feel the need the use when there are alternatives which don't feed into the whole idea of white being good/acceptable and non-white being wrong/unacceptable.
Yeah, sometimes I tell lies to get out of social events because if I tell the truth people think I'm lying and making excuses.
I've not lied to get out of relationships (saying, "I want out" when you want out is kinda truthful isn't it?). I don't drive, I don't recall ever not just getting on with a job, I don't have a problem with saying, "no, thankyou" to a date and if you lot haven't worked out that I can hold my own in an argument, there's something wrong with you.
I do omit the truth sometimes, though. My boss had a massive go at me a couple of weeks ago. I think she has some memory issues due to Type 2 diabetes and had completely forgotten my behaviour is sometimes different to other people's because I have hearing issues.
At one point I said it doesn't bother me when I'm excluded at times because of my hearing, but that was a bit of a lie. It does hurt when people deliberately exclude me from receiving information I need to do my job properly, or social contact because of my hearing. It just wasn't worth saying anything about.
