I personally think marriage is a fine thing,the statistics however do paint a grim picture of said marriage. The way things are going i see marriage becoming almost obsolete in the future. But thats the way the cookie crumbles i think.....

I think marriage can be a good thing for the people involved, when it is a good marriage.

What I think about marriage is that it can be a wonderful thing....but one bad one can turn a person against it forever.
I think it's a dying institution. I see fewer and fewer divorced remarry. So while most do marry, if they don;t stay married, the likelihood of remarrying in the future will become less. Marriage is kinda like Ivy League college and Pro sports...not meant for everyone, not everyone can do it. It's really hard to stay in the game after a bad injury or flunking out ...lol

well actually it's an institution invented by religion. Patriarchal Religions dominate the world and have done for thousands of years.
I find it absolutely ridiculous, I have never married and enjoy wonderful relationships with all the fathers of my children...
I own my life, my body and my choices...
I also never lived with the fathers of my children...they participated but from their own homes... we all turned out great.

Marriage is a very important commitment. Shared commitment nurtures trust, respect and caring. Once committed, relationships should be build and sustained. Couples need time, make mistakes, and then figure out ways that works. If it is one-sided, give it up as a bad job...

I believe that marriage is not ratified by a piece of paper, or a ceremony that man must recognise. I believe that marriage takes place in the soul and spirit of two people, that it is the binding of these two souls and spirits in a way that is unique and unmatchable.
I think that marriage is something that is not easily understood by those who don't understand it. It is something very special, but also full of commitment when it would be easier and simpler to walk away.
It is irrational because some people who are married stay married when there seems no reason for them to do so. This is because I believe marriage supercedes reason and is effected through soul and spirit.
It is a binding of mind, body and soul. It is amazing and it can be hell.
I believe that marriage is worth all the ups and the downs and that it has its own rewards, pleasures and benefits that other types of relationships just don't have.

I appreciate your views, but we don't criticise people's opinion, simply stating what i believe is not forcing any person to adhere to my believes or changing people's views.

I've never been married (so far), but I believe it is a personal choice--no one should be forced into it. The two people involved choose how, when, and where to do it. They choose how to behave in it, and how to treat their partner. They choose whether to stay in it or to get back out of it. Simple as that, but apparently not easy. I don't know how people manage it.
