I have a theory that most on here are prominently of one profession and it would be interesting to know if I'm right.

Unless someone has an interest in dating u.... And maybe, this is why a lot of guys think women are gold diggers... Here I had a thread bout men calling women gold digger and yet u r trying to find out folks professions?? (No wonder why) doh mumbling

Hi RCS applause

I've left the workforce ever since after the birth of my first child and that was some 17 years ago. The father of my kids and I decided thar it was best for me to be a stay-at-home mom.

Anyway, for the past 3 weeks, I've been helping out in my mom's restaurant coz she's severely understaffed. Hmmmm.....I need a bit of getting used to this new task... help

Well, that's just u... whether u got things to hide or not... some people just don't discuss work with others that they rather not to relate to... U can tell stuffs like that to ur friends, family, partners or so on... some of us are different in that aspect. Then again, why would someone wanna know what every person in a single room does for living?? (Not me!! I don't care what others do, honestly... I don't get in folks business either) handshake

Obviously I would never advertise my social security number or checking account number on the interest but I see nothing wrong with discussing what kind of work I do or have done.

I was a live-in childcare give in my teens to earn money to pay for my college education.Worked as an accountant for a while and then worked in two nursing homes. When I met and married my late hubby I quit working to become a stay at home mother. Now I am back into accounting again.

An interesting perspective to say the least,....somebody lies ill, and the call goes out "is there a doctor in the house?" Well,...I guess some would not like to say they are. I am defined by what I do for a living,...and it is told by the fact it is LISTED in the phone book! I DO NOT CARE what people do in their PRIVATE life, but what they do for a living, may involve my business, my life,....so may I ask,...you do not believe in anyone wearing uniforms TELLING everyone what they do for a living? Granted, criminals like to keep what they do for a living somewhat secret....

Rain is asking which profession you're in, not what level you're at. I don't think it's about money.

I would say CS should lean towards male dominated and female dominated professions where men and women do not meet through work. I notice many primary(elementary)school teachers are on dating sites. And the forums should be skewed towards the white collar.

Wouldn't some of the jobs listed as options above apply to mothers too?

We can be a receptionist who keeps track of finances within the home.

Driver taking our children to different places.

Garden planting veggies etc in which to feed our families.

Teacher we teach our children how to do things.

Catering Cooking at home. The list is endless.

I'm now retired but worked in healthcare for 38 years. Started out as a mail clerk and progressed within the healthcare facility to a lab clerk, then engineering, and ended with occupational health.

You are indeed a woman I can respect! One who accepts the passage of time and all the rewards it brings! Especially when you worked for what you achieved! (based on chronology,....we may be quite similar in the number of trips around the sun,....wink )hug
