I have slept in the Commander's bunk of a German mine sweeper in Kiel. Well...I didn't really sleep, as I was too concerned that a crew member would come in.
Using the latrine involved climbing down two sets of ladders.
It was a once in a lifetime experience, but not one I wish to do again.
When I was married my husband and I had a boat with a galley, bathroom, dining area and sleeper beds in the bow of the boat. We often went out on it for weekends. Light rocking of the boat is good but when the waves get testy sleeping on a boat isn't that much fun. This brings me back to the night we got engaged which was on the boat

I have a few times and eventhough I do consider myself brave I must admit that I was really scared in a big ship going from Greece to Turkey but since I knew that there was nothing I could do I went to sleep.
Another time I did a cruise on the Nile river, that was lovely!
Also I have shipping trough west Greenland in a huge ship as well, I was cold, eventhough it was the the end of summer, but it was amazing.

I work on a floating oil platform. When the weather is rough I tie a pendulum to the cabin ceiling to give a false horizon. This helps stop vertigo
tarris: I don't see your point here. Howze that ID me as a scammer?
. Thing is there's a couple of types of oil rigs. Jack ups and semi submersibles. Semi submersibles are afloat. Think 'deep water horizon' the one that exploded in the gulf a few years back. That was a semi sub

I have always enjoyed sleeping at sea. I find it quite soothing. Tho one time I was out and the water became rough really quickly. Storm turned the wrong way was suppose to go other way. When I made it back to land I was all bruised up. But I got my pay for the fish and bought me the pair of new boots I wanted

Moi, hell no. Been there, done that on a liveaboard in Australia. The motion of the ocean doesn't bug me when I'm awake, but sleeping doesn't work. yukk

Have to agree ...I'm not a fan of floaty , wavy ...Thingy's , unless im in a pool ! Das ist sehr gut !
Only on lakes. I've slept on a Coast Guard boat at Lake Tahoe when I was 16 and on houseboats on Lake Shasta. I don't think I could handle the rocking of a boat on the ocean, doesn't bode well with the migraines I suffer.
Depends on the boat. Would like to sleep in a Haven Suite on the Norwegian Getaway, a Owners Suite on Royal Caribbeans Allure or Oasis of the Seas, a Spa Suite on the Carnival Dream.
I have done so on at least 400 nights. In calm seas and in hurricanes. Looked at icebergs, then went to bed. Breakfast in the morning. The worse thing about being 2 weeks at sea is learning to walk on land again.
