There are probably hundreds of reasons why some of us stay single, but I believe the single most prevalent one is that we are just not meant to be attached that closely to someone else. Everyone is different, and the choice to remain, or become solitary is as valid as any. As I said in another thread, I have found that people are just too much trouble. It just isn't worth it. Even if and when I find the right person for intimacy, it will not include co-habituating. He will have to be of a like mind, in wanting a monogamous relationship with another solitary guy.------ This poll is Archived ------
Maybe by their own choice.
Maybe they aren't interested in being in a serious relationship.
Maybe they have gotten out of a meaningful relationship and haven't found someone compatible to themselves.
Obviously there are more than one reason of why they are single.

I don't believe it is exclusively a dating site. Many of us are here to touch bases, talk a bit about this n that, (notice the forum menu of choices..) I have about five 'friends' I've never met, mostly women, and neither them nor I have any intention of 'dating". If people do connect and find one another appealing and wish to date and have romance, that's wonderful, too, but it's perfectly OK to belong and just make friends. No, I do not believe it's an "odd place to be", if fact, it's right up my alley. The friends I've made here are super. Don't draw too many lines in the sand--parameters are for real estate agents. I met my late husband while getting a candy bar from a candy machine.He was getting a snicker bar so I always told people that he snickered me.lol would you also consider it to be odd that I would anywhere near a candy machine if I wasn't interested in buying one?
