I came to Texas about a year ago hoping the population density here vs. the Northwoods of Wisconsin would improve my chances of finding my life partner...its time to move on. My plan is to keep moving, traveling on my motorcycle with a pull behind trailer. I'm going to stay two to four weeks then move on. I'm going to follow the weather and no pressure to be anywhere. I have three states im considering for my first stage in April. Id appreciate any suggestions re; nice campsites, places to eat, see, visit or ride. Any rallys or events that may be worthwhile would be nice to hear about also. Anybody who would enjoy visiting with or riding with me, feel free to contact me. Im pretty laid back and easy to get along with.
So far Oklahoma is not faring well... I luv cajun food and any Southern accented female can melt me with just a few words. Im prob gonna lean towards State Parks & Natl Forests for campsites. Im not a fan of huge RV parks. I def enjoy nature & prefer to stay away from large populations. Humanity leaves me wanting.
But so far two persons have stood up for their home State. Thats nice that people are happy where they are. I set up my new tent yesterday and sealed seams, packed it away today. Trailer is ready except for a few small items Im still waiting on. But i cant wait till April!!!
Louisiana is on the Gulf. All you'll find there is fatty food
Come to New Jersey. You can ride your bike along the southern part of NJ and see the Atlantic Ocean the whole time. Lots of night life at the Jersey Shore including Atlantic City. A must see is Hoboken. My favorite city is Cape May which is across from Delaware. You can take the Lewes Ferry from Cape May to Maryland and ride your bike in Washington for more things to see. The ferry will bring you back to Cape May. Then have a seafood dinner and then go over to the boardwalk in Atlantic City.
Across the river from Hoboken is New York. If you want to see the Statute of Liberty, the new World Trade Tower, Memorial Park and the Memorial Museum it's well worth the time.
I have run most of the West Coast. Im planning on hitting the East Coast this coming year. Theres a bridge outta Fla that I heard is interesting & I def wanna do the Dragons Tail & Laconia. Urban sites hold No interest for me. Nature is my favorite backdrop. Im planning on wintering next year in Arizona...the next in Alaska. I have a daughter & son in law in Alaska that have a room waiting on me. I hope to explore the East coast up into Maine but that may not get completed the first whack at it. Atlantic City....while I appreciate the recommendation...I used to go to Las Vegas every year for business and I have lived in large cities in my past...I have no plans to spend anytime other than passing thru/by any areas that have large populations...lil towns & Countrysides, Thats what I luv.

I live on the east coast of the southern part of Florida. A place called Vero Beach. I know in my area we have many places that you would find nature. The weather is nice if you can take the summer heat. My climate is more of a tropical climate. Never snows and am shy of cold weather Camp grounds galore. If you have any questions about south Florida if I don't have the answer I can ask friends. I am not a camper but know many that are. My idea of roughing it is the holiday inn. Use to camp when I was younger. To many trips to the everglades in my youth and not the fancy equipment they have now a days put a damper on that. Which bridge have you heard is interesting?
If you decide on Daytona way may I suggest you ride the loop. Lovely nature on that ride. No gators tho. Don't seem right to me
If you make your way to NYC I would suggest you don't bring your bike into Manhattan. Find a camping place in Staten Island and take the ferry to the lower tip of Manhattan (it's free to pedestrians) and buy a day pass for the subway. You can ride all day for free and explore the city from top to bottom. One road I would definitely plan on is Skyline Drive. I rode from Hackensack to FL on a Suzuki 380 triple and planned on running the whole length of Skyline Drive. I made it as far as Harrisonburg at night time when I was frozen to the bone and had to get a room. I had ridden 3.5 hours in the rain and I never felt as wet even in a swimming pool.

Have you thought of joining AAA for obtaining this kind of information?
Good info on Fla, thanks. I hadnt thought about which side of the State...bridge is one that goes out to the Keys...
As for NYC, been there. No desire to ever see a subway let alone ride one...urban areas-I will by bypass.
I am a member of AAA...i use lots of sources to determine routes. I have several apps and also Natl Parks books and an Adventure Atlas. It never hurts to hear from others who have the actual experience and typically i get great routes from word of mouth.

Visit them all! ROFLMFAO! Seriously....if your "cycle" is a bit bigger than a 150 Honda....try a bit farther north...you will ALWAYS find a place to chill up here!
Or hey....come even FARTHER north!!!
Then again....just keep going farther north! LOL! May you fare well with your journeys! Wind in your face, sun on your back bro!
@Greek Chris....doesnt deserve a response...just a boy loving Greek.
As for Sturgis...I have been there a few times. First time I was only 14, rode w my father & his buddies-(all bike racers). It has Really gone downhill. But the Black Hills are Gorgeous. I got stopped by a herd of Buffalo in Custer Park...was very surreal as i was surrounded by them as they crossed the highway. I couldnt move till they departed...were close enough to touch.
Len, New Orleans is a wonderful place, loads of history and the food is unbelieveable. I am leaning towards LA as my first stop but likely will be North of New Orleans. Prob east of Shreveport somewhere.
I have spent some time in NYC, nasty place in my view and it holds no allure for me. I do intend to see more of the State though.
I dont know much about Oklahoma or Arkansas and I am hoping to gain better insight on them from members.
