allthegoodnamest: Socially , when I'm out or in good company... Never alone.
Same here. Some might think that I don't drink alcohol at all but I just prefer not to drink alone and I rarely find myself in social gatherings these last few years. When I used to travel more we had some really great times out drinking. Even there in Ireland at a CS meeting, I and a lot of others that had come over from England and Spain to mention just a few places that members traveled from. It was really great to meet those that had only been on the internet till then. As far as mixing alcohol with prescription drugs such as "Lithium" or "Depakote" which are some that are used for Bi-Polar disorder (which my ex was taking) can be tolerated but it is generally not suggested that much alcohol is consumed for several reasons. For my ex it was not even up for debate as she was and most likely still is a full on Alcoholic and changes dramatically even from a half glass on beer. In fact for her it was like once she took one drink she would drink till she physically could not stand or get the liquid to her lips. But, we all make our decisions and the cards fall where they may.
stringman: Pedro have a short story for you. had a friend 32yrs old. he was in AAA, stopped for 2 yrs. raised in home where booze was a daily thing. found him one morning in a snow bank dead. if you really want to stop it's because YOU want to.
Its a good thing he had AAA to get his car towed out of the snow bank, too bad he didn't call them in time.

pedro27: the question, soh turned sour
Regarding your original question, Pedro, it depends on whether the can of beer was there on it's own without the company of other cans of beer.
If for nothing else than to put it out of it's misery and loneliness then the only answer to your question is an emphatic "YES".
It's cruel to keep cans of beer by themselves in cold dark places such as a fridge.
If on the other hand it is in the company of other cans of beer, then yet again, the answer is an emphatic "YES". For nothing else than to alleviate it's pain and suffering for being in a fridge and sharing it's space with that month old meat pie you haven't finished yet, or the 3 week old raw fish you forgot to freeze.
