Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein is expected to face charges for alleged vandalism or trespassing at a North Dakota construction site.
Authorities say Stein spray painted construction equipment while protesting alongside approximately 200 people at a Dakota Access Pipeline work site on Tuesday, according to a report in the Bismarck Tribune.
Morton County Sheriff Kyle Kirchmeier said the sheriff’s department is "working up the information through the state’s attorney’s office to pursue charges" against Stein. It's unclear whether the charges would be felonies or misdemeanors.
Two protesters reportedly affixed themselves to bulldozers and other materials. On Tuesday afternoon, Kirchmeier said “the incident is actually still ongoing as we speak.”
Although no arrests have yet been made, he added: “We are actively investigating these incidents, either by video or social media to identify people that have taken place in this. We will pursue charges as needed.”
Stein is currently polling low, earning 3 percentage points compared with the other major presidential candidates, according to the latest RealClearPolitics polling average.

well if US was a democracy all candidates would be allowed in the debates at this stage - most of the civilized countries have laws to protect small parties, and candiates. but as US its is a "showacracy ".... you get 2 clowns.
The debate should include all candidates registered in enough states to have a theoretical chance of winning, this way the public will know more about options and alternative ways of thinking.
WTF cares - More serious than that woman's garbage, is in the middle East IS terrorism, the defiance of the UN, criminal barbarism of bombing & killing civilian Red Cross, Red Crescent and all other Aid organisations relief work to the innocent, in Syria which we know is backed up by the financial hypocricy of the US and military, and which is being enforced by Putin and Russia in cahoots with Syria's Evil regime against its own people.

Rumples: May, Le Pen, Merkel, Clinton - these likely could be our main leaders soon. And of course they made Merkel Time person of the year during the most dismal year of her political career.
That's just how politics is, and it's not only about being a woman, being handsome or looking cool can do the same thing. They're obviously so used to dorky men being into politics that they'll promote anyone different who doesn't look like they've freshly crawled from the swamp - so long as they tow the line.

Derailed recently somewhat with the economy going bump, but essentially politics is rule by handsome face and opinion poll.
A leader is supposed to be both a representative and an educator who doesn't necessarily sacrifice his judgement to the masses. The leader is supposed to know more than the typical citizen and the typical citizen is supposed to revere this fact. That's how civilisation works.
However, mainstream rule by spin, handsome face and opinion poll has blazed the pathways to populism which we see today. For a long time mainstream politics has treated - arguably correctly - the people as though they are at the level of intellect, maturity and sophistication to elect a Trump. Mainstream politics has pandered to citizen as child(or, more aptly, citizen as little adult)for decades and now we have Trump.

Imo we're not, objectively speaking, in conditions so wretched to be reckless and impulsive. But the citizen as little adult, ingrated by the silliness and decadence before the fall, will find this still relatively comfortable post-2008 way of life both taxing and oppressive.
I'm starting to understand that "Make America Great Again" from the old is in fact another way of saying "repeat my gravy train". Today's 60 year old wants to repeat the luxury he never really earned at 40.

Don't get me wrong I can see the appeal. In my job now I'd probably only have to work 1 day a week in 1996 with the sheer volume of baseless money circulating the economy then.
But it was unreal living, work was simply too easy or spurious, and the old should be thankful that the young don't remember how you had it before 2008. It turns the debate on its head over which is the spoilt, ingrate generation with no respect for authority. Old people say it's the kids, but it's not, it's old people projecting themselves onto their kids.
