Because he was the doll of the media, and they do this. If you're a Democratic candidate, you're their darling and all of your evils get swept under the carpet while any good done by an evil Republican gets swept under it and any small evil deed of theirs gets blown out of all proportion. That's just the way it is, and has been for some time.

I was asking about Obama's actions, before being elected. You can bet, that if you or I had done drugs in the past...we wouldn't be allowed to run for president...much less anything else.
