I used to like going round the doors when i was a wean, one house in particular, she made fab toffee apples and tablet but we had to sing all the songs from the Sound Of Music, she was a music teacher..grin wave

When I was a child, my sister and I went trick or treating for hours by ourselves. When we got home y parents took all the candy bars away from us and put them in their bedroom for themselves which left us with the junk candy, broken pretzels and apples. They wouldn't let us have any of the candy bars. Get the picture........they were selfish people.

I think it is dangerous for children to go from house to house these days. I'm more in favor of house partys or parents taking children to the mall stores.

In truth, Halloween is stupid in my opinion. Children don't need all that sugar and neither do adults. Call me a Halloween Scrooge rolling on the floor laughing

Yes and no. I loved the candy part of it, but not the haunted houses and scary things associated with it.

Now I love it as a sacred time to honor my ancestors and deceased loved ones. It's not candy and costume time for me, but the sacred day of Samhain (pronounced sow-in). wine

I don't hand out candy or treats because of my dogs. I either have to crate them for hours, or rush out onto my porch to hand out candy. I just turn out all lights and pretend I'm not home...or leave so that's true. wine

I hate the concept of 'TRICK OR TREAT'

I think it's evil............ I spend the week before Halloween pissing into a large pot that I rest gently on my windowsill over my porch...... any 'trick or treater' gets a 'sprinkling' for their trouble! blushing
