Yes, gifts can be extremely thoughtful as well, but the ones I remember the most are acts of romance/love that can't be bought. To come home to a romantic dinner, to dance in the middle of the living room. To remember a special date or occasion.

To make a special time on a regular basis to simply spend quality time together as well - doesn't matter the activity but to enjoy each others company.

I love to receive letters - these are something that I can cherish and read over and over again. I've got one letter from my first boyfriend that is over 20 years old. Once in a while I'll pull it out and simply go back in time.

I would be more than happy to see the look in his eyes when he looks at me, that look that i miss so much, the look of love, no amount of presents can outdo that look..jmo..

as for me....pizza delivery (thin crust) with veggies/pepperoni /everything on it football size while working the night shift...so other staff nurses can eat too...then we will all be happy ( nurses/ doctors/ cleaning lady/ etc...)

Well of course that´s the key to a happy relationship.

Sometimes though it´s nice to receive something out of the ordinary which serves to amplify that daily love and attention, however much it is appreciated.

For me, a surprise weekend away from the grind of work and routine etc is wonderful. It doesn´t have to be expensive or a million miles away.

Because I love to travel; this would be easy for me. I find writing little notes and leaving them where only she could find them is romantic. I once gave my wife a diamond ring for our 20th wedding anniversary because I couldn't afford it prior to that time. It took me weeks to find the right restaurant with the right lighting to ensure the diamonds would shine!

I agree with you about the notes. I used to put notes in my ex husbands lunch box, and my kids too, though not of the romantic kind!
