I'm not so much afraid of death as the process of dying. A few years back I spent 10 days in hospital confined to bed and I just couldn't use a bedpan. So I'm afraid of dying without dignity and I'm afraid I'm going to appear terrified rather than just slipping bravely off.

Same here, I know where I am going after I die, but its the pain and that last desperate struggle to hang on while your guts are oozing out and you feel your hearts last beat that is kinda scary.

No, Living is what 's tough. Once the pain and suffering of whatever it is that takes you out is over, you're done with this miserable existence here on earth. Beyond that, who knows, I don't wish to start any religious discussions here as I'm not interested in them.
