Phoenix: You would trust Gerry itwasn'tme or Mary lou?
its no different to trusting enda kenny or bertie ahern..every last 1 of them are gangsters with their own agenda..to hell with the people that voted them in
I voted for the local SF councillor in the past, they work hard but doubt I would vote for SF again, Mary Lou was struggling to defend Adams and you could tell she hated the spotlight being on them over this.
Pearse Doherty talks theough his hole on the economy, 5 years of SF and the looney left policies and the IMF would be back at the door.
maxpower50: The Quisling's here are the FG party and always have being.
I think you'll find after closer inspection the real quislings are PSF.. They sold out Irish Republicanism and re-enforced partition when they signed up to the GFA and the triple lock at St Andrews (which is going to be looked at again)...

I understand what you mean and agree but (always a but) my jury is still out on Pearse and Gerry kelly talks sense...
WadeWilson: i cant reply to you now - is that it why is everything gay with you and you add the words i am not as well in the sentence your such a homophobe
Wade go and tell the united nations whatever your problem is with me... As I said, I've the munchies for double cheese burgers and hot dogs with loads of mustard
MADDOG69: Gerry needs to step aside for their own sake. He could sit on that Louth seat for the rest of his life, comfortably enough and just fade into the backbenches nice and handy. I wouldn't vote for them, though. Their policies don't interest me much.
if (and that is a huge big IF) they are ever to have any credibility Gerry needs to step down (and take a few more with him too)
Personally I could never ever ever vote SF....but that is just my opinion and that is what Phoenix asked for (wondering now is Phoenix rooting out the anti-SF/RA/Provos to put us on a list or something )

I don't think Gerry was any intention of fading into the sunset if/when he steps down as SF leader, himself and the generation from the troubles will still be the main people within SF even if the younger generation takes over the leadership.
I wouldn't vote for Sinn Fein for a list of reasons. But the Mairia Cahill story would be near the bottom of that list. When Sinn Fein voted to support the PSNI, the Republican Network for Unity(RNU) was set up...opposed to the PSNI and GFA. Mairia Cahill was the secretary of the RNU. Now she says, she was only secretary and this is a "smear" campaign against her. However, I think this is hugely relevant. Why would she be shouting about Sinn Fein and the IRA for not reporting these acts and covering them up when she is a member of a splinter group with strong links to active dissident terrorists and who reject the GFA and authority if the PSNI and the Gardai?

snowlynx: 'All political parties'.....not Labour though. Even still there is nobody in FF or FG who joined a party that was anything but fully democratic, their origins aren't really relevant. But anyone who joins SF is joining a party run by Norther Irish terrorists, that makes them different from all other parties.
Do you actually know anything about Irish politics..? Where did the workers party come from and what did the morph into? Thats right the Labour party!!!!!!
The Quislings today aren't connected in any shape or form with and paramilitary organisation...

labour was formed in 1912 your clutching at straws re-read what you posted not what you said to cover your tracks
gcy1980: I corrected my mistake because I felt people might take issue with my statement due to it. It doesn't really make much of a difference though. She was general secretary of this group. They have a huge axe to grind with Sinn Fein. From a neutral point of view, she loses all credibility for me. Mairia Cahill putting out a statement(ex-post) that she is against all forms of violence means nothing. She has strong links to plenty of violent people...I would look to this in making a decision about her. The chairman of the RNU is an active member in the ONH...enough of a link for me. What did she expect Sinn Fein to do? She is against the PSNI, the Gardai and the GFA. For me, this is a politically motivated move which is disgusting.
Gerry Adams is a compulsive liar who has lied throughout his political career, he's a disgrace and if SF members and politicians had any backbone they'd have organised a ledaership challenge against him.
Mairia Cahill is far more credible regardless of her political beliefs.

you said that ALL political parties were founded out of violent movements, and I pointed out that the Labour party weren't, don't you ever listen to what anyone actually says? If you did you mightn't get things wrong so often.
snownyn ur comments are an insult to the irish people where u refer to sinn fein as a party run by northern irish terrorists .no irish person was ever a terrorist. was british terrorism in ireland ok??? there is never a word of condemnation by you as regards terrorist violence carried out by the british army/ruc/udr/in collusion with unionist paramilitaries directed by a british government in ireland .

Completely agree.

Disagree..she associates herself with people just as bad as Adams. Why is she complaining about a "cover-up" when the groupings that she is a part of advocate a return to an environment in which these "cover-ups" become the status quo? Our government has become mixed up in a Republican splinter groups strategy...a splinter group that questions the legitimacy of the GFA, PSNI and the Gardai.

'no Irish person was ever a terrorist'.....wow that's some statement! I don't think collusion was acceptable but there's never a word from you about collusion between the IRA and SF is there?
