Well I disagree, in my opinion and that of many others including staunch socialists and those like me who are left of centre, will say that she will go down in history as one of the best PM's this country has had, putting aside your political views, and looking at the character of Mrs T she is the epitome of what a true leader should aspire to, Strong willed a brilliant speaker, tactician and wholly respected as a powerful person throughout the world.
I did not agree with great many of her policies, but the fact remains that as a country the UK benefited from her strengths especially with regards to Europe, that hard work was sold down the river by Blair/Brown in a deceitful and IMO unlawful manner.
No leader of a country can please all of the people all of the time, but I bet the majority of citizens are a lot worse off now than when she was in power. You have to look at the wider picture, not take a narrow view of what solely affected you.
When the ww2 finished, how was Churchill repaid, think about it, he was kicked out by the “thankless people”, because he made and stuck to hard decisions. You don’t become a leader to be liked, you do it because you care about the work required of you.
Name any leader anywhere in the world who has become a historical champion, revered by the majority and I guarantee that you can find faults with that same person.
If you wish to denigrate a politician then pick someone like Blair, who single handed has destroyed this once great country, who’s lies and deceit trip of his tongue like a congenital power hungry dictator, Brown who has personally created the downfall of our banking system by releasing all control and responsibility of their actions. Something even Dennis Healey was so against.
