@ gold71 - Sorry mate but you have it all wrong.... fission is what the world is currently using, what you are talking about is fusion.
Both are nuclear and radioactive, fusion less so than fission... the difference is that with fusion you can't have the 'run-a-way' syndrome resulting in a melt-down that you get with a fission power plant.
A fusion power plant is no more dangerouse than a 44 gallon drum of petrol/gas.
Fusion uses two hydrogen isotopes, deuterium and tritium that is compressed with magnetic pressure to create heat and convert to a plasma.... this plasma (4th state of matter) is contained in a vessel called a Tokamak.... several Tokamaks are currently being used around the world today (2 in Australia) but the largest international co-operative is ITER.
Nuclear Fusion has been on the drawing board since the 1930's and will be the next generation power source for the entire world.... the first commercial unit should be operational around 2030.
I have been studying fusion power since the early 1990's with the help of a fusion physics professor from South Australia.
@ Brianebartlett - If all the bicycles were to use the side walk there would be nothing left for us drivers to aim for except for the odd stray cat or dog.....
@ Pedal - I'm not fussy, I'll take whatever's going..... even the Titanic if everyone else is finished using it Might be a problem holding my breath though..... ....
The Antarctic Treaty and related agreements, collectively called the Antarctic Treaty System or ATS, regulate international relations with respect to Antarctica, Earth's only continent without a native human population. For the purposes of the treaty system, Antarctica is defined as all of the land and ice shelves south of 60°S latitude. The treaty, entering into force in 1961 and currently having 50 signatory nations, sets aside Antarctica as a scientific preserve, establishes freedom of scientific investigation and bans military activity on that continent. The treaty was the first arms control agreement established during the Cold War. The Antarctic Treaty Secretariat headquarters have been located in Buenos Aires, Argentina, since September 2004
@ NotMissTaken - When that happens to you it's the end result of an astral travel episode whereby you re-enter your body, you may or may not remember the actual travel or maybe just segments of it, nothing to worry about..... goodnight, Girl ....
@ soloseeker - The first pc that I bought (not just used) was a pentium 2, after studying all the latest pc mags I ordered it to be built the way I wanted it and with speakers, back-up external drive, printer and scaner it cost me just over AU$6,000 it had all the latest technology that was availale at the time.
I had that pc 13 years because I had my own IT business I often had to replace pc's for companies and they didn't want the old ones so I took them home to up-grade mine. Whenever I had enough parts to build another eorking unit I would give it away to someone that I knew could never afford one for their kids.
In 2008 I bought my first lappy but my 13 yo pc was still working so I gave it to my brother-in-law. The lappy lasted 2 years and died, bought another lappy, it too only lasted 2 years and died.... I am now 5 months into my 3rd lappy, I have never lost any files since day one because of my back-up drive and I have used every MS operating system since windows began, I have Win 8 Pro but it's still in the box and I am still using the earlier system because according to all the information that I have read, windows 8 does not include Windows media player.
I use all the ms office pro programes as I have done 4 years full-time IT studies.... here is a little trick that you can do if you have ms word on your pc.... type the following code at the start of a new page exactly as I've done here or copy & paste...
=Rand (10,12)
The above code won't do any harm.... but it will make you the fastest typist around......
@ Asha - You still manage to crack me up Girl, I don't buy into the 'dumb blonde' thing, intelligence has absolutely nothing to do with hair colour, mind you, you are allowed to have a senior moment from time to time..... ....
Hey Rob, there is a very simple way to get your pics on here.
If you have them on your PC just go to the 'Blog' page, in the left-hand column the is a button 'Upload My Pics' follow the prompts, once you have your pics up just right click onto the 'code' and paste it anywhere you can add pics on this site....
RE: Australia Burning.......
Maybe smack them on the nose with a rolled up newspaper.....
