RE: There's one VERY Good Thing about this lockdown lark ....

The sky is clear at night.

There is no noise from cars.

I met my neighbors - from a distance - who are walking their dogs.

RE: Who would you like to be Quarantined with right now?

Good to know. teddybear

I'm a fan of "social distancing" and prefer my men to wave from a car in a "drive by". I'm not a fan of cohabitation and domestic living - during this time when 25% of the infected are asymptomic.

Just me and the cats....and lately, the chickens. The chickens decided the hole in the fence was an invitation to roost in my suburban backyard.

The fence broke from the last hurricane..... my city does not have any chicken catchers..... and I am fined if I let them nest.....it's a catch-22.

It's a whole new business now with COVID-19. I might be looking for a man that can catch, and cook dinner. I also have one strawberry in my container planter..... which I am willing to share.....

RE: who is paying employees of universities and government, restaurants & other businesses to stay home?

RE: why do women, in western societies, have to cover their chests?

doh Of course, everyone loves to take their shirts off to cool off, in the Western World..... well down south in Florida women consider this their duty when asserting their gender equality.

Southern Charmers like to do this too. Helps to save on washing clothes when operating the outdoor BBQ Grill, too

Pass me a mint julep honey child....

RE: Professional Work Attire ... What is acceptable to wear or not wear

She appears to be missing her jacket overtop....... dunno

RE: Nihilism in America

Depends on where you get your news.....

Congress needs to step up and deal with some brewing issues - how the NRA controls gun legislation, that corporations are considered individuals, and universal healthcare.....

Also, what should be on the agenda, addressing technology and social media, protections and security...

America is not a failed democracy, it is a very much working democracy. To generalize is to perish.

RE: Harry and Meghan, the royal scandal.

WoW! Really?

Both Harry and his lovely Duchess will be forgiven and allowed to have themselves and their children... and future generations out of the running of being inline to rule......

Isn't it Parliament who will deal with it?

RE: Why do old and previously banned members …keep returning to CS?

way, way, way to seriously. wine

RE: US- Iran

teddybear I'm going to vote for Mr. Smith and wait until Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. Washington seems to take all those basic lying *ss politicians, scramble their brains and then point them in a thousand directions.....

tho Pelosi is my hero.

I don't know what is going to return our country to sanity. My utopia is that the impeachment process will move slowly through Congress. The elections will be held. There will be no foreign interference in the election process. We will hopefully vote in a new President. We will get universal health care, corporations will be held accountable for their criminal wrongdoings, and we find other planets in the universe to settle on, or ship our garbage there, and we send out politicians to those planets rather than our brightest scientists.....
Also we will reverse our climate change.... and increase our water resources.
ah, sigh..... utopia.

Is that washing machine a GE?

RE: US- Iran

RE: US- Iran

RE: US- Iran

where the "heck" are you getting your news source? Seems you are just spouting off "ad bait"

Come back when we can have a serious conversation

RE: US- Iran

Still does not answer the question - Did you read the report? dunno

RE: US- Iran

kiss kiss kiss A long time ago, in a far away land..... yes.

RE: US- Iran

I see you've been drinking the coolaide. The millions who went out and voted need to be insulted.... for they did not weigh anything up, except what the Russians wanted.... that of a divided America.

Just a few background facts - Fact: I printed out each of the Certification of Election Results from that time and saw the actual numbers on who voted - it was available online. Of the 36 million who voted out of 240? million population, it was greater number overall to Hilary Clinton, however the way the Electoral College awarded it belonged to Trump - each State constitution has its own rules

Comment: As a No Party Affiliated voting citizen, I find the generalization of party labels disrespectful. All voting Americans are as history has made them - a mixture of mutable conflicting ideals that are easily swayed and they learn their lessons very well. Americans do not like the idea that they were made into fools.

In my opinion from what I read... The Russians never cared if Trump won, they only wished to divide the country - and Trump was the messiest one to do that.

RE: US- Iran

fruitless says you....

Did you read the Mueller Report? I am part-way through it now. Are you forgetting about Cambridge Analytical....

RE: US- Iran

It's a worry our north-bordered friends and family.....

Congratulations on sending firefighters to Australia - the Australians sure know how to put "crisis" in climate change. Canada is a good friend to many countries around the world.

The removal of American troops from the middle east was bound to have some serious consequences.... hopefully not anymore fatale ones.....

I'll not listen to any crap in the news feeds and instead I will watch what Congress discusses on the House and Senate floors..... the rest is just posturing. Thank heavens for CSPAN.

RE: US- Iran

Peeps like to worry. It is just a waste of time to listen to the war drums beat..... I've now learned to turn down the volume and it sounds like an annoying mosquito buzzing around.

It's a distracting from Impeachment..... the news programs love it! It makes their sponsored ads make money.

RE: Happy New Years From Newfoundland

RE: I played this song over and over as I quit a job I disliked terribly

I forgot how entertaining this site was, and your threads, galrads.

I can relate to the sentiment, although I just ended up retiring early instead.

Now I get paid to not work..... love it!

RE: Time Wasters

Depends on your definition of waste and time and "nothing better to do".

Reading in my opinion is never a waste of time...even when it is only the comments in the International Forums.

I have made some very good friendships from this site. I have actually met them in person and we have traveled together. Cruise, showing the sights of my home city.

RE: Moving to FL

I have lived in the outskirts of Miami and work in Miami for over 30 years - and yes traffic is bad - considering it's a seaport and airport with millions of visitors. City of Miami Beach, is fun and entertaining. Shopping, culture, art, adventure rivals New York City. It's a new community only 75 - 80 years old. 65% of the population speak Spanish. But the tropical sunshine is worth it. Many film, tv and fashion businesses use the location - it's just a hop, skip and a jump to the Florida Keys or the Everglades.
