The Academy of Art Puzzle

The building where The Academy of Art is situated today was built in 1905 according to the project of architect B. Bocslaph for Riga's Exchange business school. The Latvian Academy of Art de jure was established in August 20, 1919 by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers. The official opening took place on October 12, 1921.

Once again ,great pictures...I see its the Waltz Art Museum in the picture below..and the Academy of Art looks like my old school!Funny thing is last night I was trying to add some pics here of the Art School...We were again thinking same subject matter...I will attempt to add some on here for you just now.....applause applause applause bouquet

My old school was red sandstone,and your academy of Art is red brick...I cant believe how it looks so similar...The cloisters at the front,and even a clock in almost the same place..

Many artists, at hose days were studied abroad and everything new, new ideas, new look at usually things, of course led to the home where they pursued their dreams...

My first school was in Kalnciems, it is about 40km from Riga. School is more than 120 years old.

my second school was in old Riga (yellow building on the right side on opposite side you can see corner The Museum of the History of Riga and Navigation, but it will be separate story :) )

In Old Riga each corner has own history :)
