our times"...and "The Human Camera"....I'll be back shortly,to enlarge on the life of Stephan Wiltshire......Here are some examples of his work....
Today's featured Artist is Stephan Wiltshire,There is no painting here,for this Artist's work,is drawing,in very exact and precise detail..
..He was born in London,in 1974...Mute until the age of 3...When he was diagnosed Autistic..At the age of 5,he attended Queensmill School in London,where he expressed a keen interest in drawing...With the help of his teachers there..He began to communicate through his Art.....
I have a lot of admiration and respect for this young man,not only for his incredible Art work,but for him as a person.....You see Stephan has managed to do,what many Autistic people dont ever accomplish.He has managed to have a foot in "both worlds"....His Art has transported him to many foreign lands,where he has drawn famous landmarks,and even entire cities...From Memory....His Art has enabled him to broaden his Horizons....Most of all,he has met people from all walks of life,and has managed communication.....He has in fact ...A foot in both worlds...Leaving the world of the enclosed door,and stepping out into this "other" alien world ,that we call normal...........
Just look at that detail
What an achievement!!...Not only managing to give T.V. appearances,but doing press conferences,and managing a fullfilling life......
Now,I am no expert,but have worked in similar fields,and I know in some cases....a bridge can be crossed...Thing is,you can take a horse to water....You cannot make it drink.......
Yes,posted this one before....but this includes view of horizon....
But I believe with understanding,bridges can be crossed,to the benefit of everyone.....You see,it's the wiring,the circuit board,has'nt been wired properly...Things come out all wrong...There maybe a Father figure attraction...or an Out of Tune Romantic notion....But really what it is,is a sub-concious cry for help.....There is the desire to have a foot in both worlds...
...But to achieve this,the person would need to have a great trust,....and the courage to reach out for understanding....i.e.You cannot help someone learn mathmatics,who shows no interest in arithmetic....You are trying to make diversions,on what has been a life-long one way street....(Dont forget you are altering the wiring in the swithboard....Occasionally you will get electrical faults...when you are trying to bring a light into the darkness).....Where there is life.....There is hope.....Somewhere,at sometime the time will be right....
Yes with patience an trust we can crossed a many bridges...
And for these people and kids (who are different) is important to have someone, who can helps to make this step in "normal life".
and let them just frustrate themselves.
