These are my favorite Progressive & Classic Rock songs ranging from the late 60's to the early 90's. Hell, these are my favorite songs in general.
From their 1971 album, "Look at Yourself". This 10 and a half minute diddy became the inspiration to the bulgarian hippie tradition, known as "July Morning".
From their 1976 album "Tales of Mystery and Imagination". The song is based off of the poem of the same name by Edgar Alan Poe.
From their 1983 album "The Present". Reached #62 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
From their 1994 album "The Division Bell". This song featured excerpts from Stephen Hawking and was one of the only Pink Floyd songs to utilize a talk box.
This particular single came out in 1969. It reached #1 on Billboard's Top 100 chart and stayed there for 6 weeks.
From their 1975 debut album "Flat as a Pancake". This song reached #68 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. The song was also featured in the 1993 film "Dazed & Confused".
From their 1983 album "Frontiers". This song didn't get much fanfare and didn't even reach the Billboard's Top 100 but this is the most beautiful song of all of Journey's songs, in my opinion.
From their 1995 album "Sea of Light". The song goes from being smooth to being heavy on the bass halfway through. Probably one of the prettiest songs of their career.
From their 1975 album, "Stampede". It's very slow and soothing for the first 4 min. and becomes fast paced and awesome at the end.
From their 1975 album, "One of These Nights". The song was used as the theme song to the BBC radio series, "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" and then re-recorded for the TV series and eventually re-recorded once more for the 2005 feature film.
Well that's it. If you would like to learn more about these musicians and/or songs just hit me up.
