Can we be truly honest in self-description? This is my attempt. And to ensure it has some degree of truth, I’ve asked a female friend to give her opinion also. So here goes :
ME:
I’m not rich or very good looking; I’m overweight but working on that, I live in partial exile in a tiny one horse village in the middle of nowhere, I drink far too much coffee. A good cook and enjoy thunderstorms and creating gardens.
I’m posh with a scummy edge; I do dress to go out if I can be assed. I’m romantic at heart, bit old fashioned but enjoy being naughty.
I enjoy peace and quiet, and I dabble in art, from wood carving to painting and writing.
HER:
Mapmaker is an intelligent, kind man with a quirky sense of humour. He is self-sufficient and artistic. He can cook; clean (when he has to!); do DIY; has a magnificent garden; and generally can take care of himself. Due to a former unhealthy lifestyle, he is currently overweight, but has seen the light and due to a new healthy regime, plans to be at a healthy weight within the year.
He has created an oasis in a desert. It's hot, hot, hot in summer, not suited to the fainthearted. However, although he wouldn't admit it, he would relocate within Spain for the right woman.
