When you're dating in hopes of having a future with someone, it's important to recognize the signs of a relationship that might not be headed that way. You don't want to ignore signs and waste time on someone that isn't headed in the same direction you are.

Just because you love someone doesn't mean that you should/or will be in it for the long term. If you're trying to figure out if you and the man you're dating have a future together, you should consider the following situations.

1. He only wants to see you at night

A man who only wants to see you at night probably isn't someone you will have a future with. If the man you're dating calls you at the last minute wanting to see you to see you late at night, he probably has one thing on his mind. A man who sees a future with you will pre-plan dates instead of waiting until he has nothing better to do to ask you out. He puts more thought and effort into seeing you because you're worth it to him.

2. He hasn't introduced you to family or friends

If the man you've been dating for a few months hasn't made any effort to introduce you to any of his family or friends, he might not see you in his life for the long-term. A man who wants to be more serious with you will want the people in his life to meet you. He won't keep his life with you and his life with them separate. If he sees a future with you, he will also be willing to meet the other people in your life. If he avoids meeting your best friend or your father, he might not be planning to be around for long.

3. He can go days without talking to you

A man who likes you and wants a future with you won't go days without talking to you. If he knows he's going to be extra busy, he will let you know ahead of time as to not be rude and leave you hanging. When a man disappears for days and comes back without explanation, he may not see you as an important part of his life. If he doesn't ask what you've been up to while he was away, this is a clear sign that he isn't taking an interest in you or your life and is probably only coming around when it suits him. This is not the kind of man you will have a future with.
