What employers want to hear and how to prepare for job interview

I get stressed up when I attend job interviews because I always am asked the same questions. Sometimes I try to think if all employers think the same way. Most of the questions that stresses me most like, Employer: Please tell me about yourself? Wow! this question make me to start thinking if the employer want to know stories of my childhood or where do I start. This is not the time to start scratching  my head try to think what am going to say. This question tell me about yourself in a job interview is very stressful to many. The employer is not interested to know when is your wedding day or how many children you plan have in the future or location you will be relocating to in the future, your kids, where you grew up or anything about your spouse. Although, you could say you were born in a certain place where you have your family and you are excited of the prospect of going back. All employers are interested to find out about your background,  an overview of who you are before diving into other specifics. Other questions that are quite tricky is when the employer asks me what is your weaknesses Ms. Grau? This is when I start rolling my eyes oh boy what will I say? Ha ha! It is very simple if you are prepared before the day for the interview. You will have in mind all the answers to the questions what the employer will be asking you. Do not forget that your employer also will ask you how did you hear about the company and what do you know about the company. Do your research write down all the questions and answers  and memorise them in your head.

Before you leave your house look in to the mirror if you look good professionally and no food particles visible on your teeth. Make sure after breakfast you brush your teeth since most interviews happens in the morning. Arrive at your interview place 15 minutes earlier. You could ask yourself why but it is simply because you will have enough time to look around and find out about other things you did not know about the company. When you are called in for your interview have in mind a one minute answer that will summarise exactly who you are, where you are in your career, emphasising  on your most recent job, your strengths & your weakness. Let your employer understand all of your skills whether it is from chicken farming background to doctorate field. Mix the two worlds together to an extent that your employer will feel  that not only you will fit for the job position but also your employer will know that you will bring something extra, that new spark in to the company interests.  You always have 2 minutes to answer your employer questions so think about the questions as your own personal elevator speech because the reality is once your prospective employer get to know  everything about you this is when you will get hired.

Other questions employers ask are Ms. Earth where do you find yourself in the next 5 years? hmmm. This questions always drive me to the edge. Should my response be ohh I freeze and forget everything I have studied ha ha! Never be ignorant to your interviewer because you could ruin a promising career chance. The answer is whenever you are asked by your employer where do you see yourself in 5 years understand that your employer is looking to find out if you have goals/dreams/aspiration that are in line with the company. Just answer simply to the question that you want to use the position as a rung in the ladder to big achievements. When some jobseekers are asked this questions they respond. Erm I want to marry an English boy and then we travel all over South France with our Yatch. This is a non go answer all employer want to hear things like, this will depend with my individual performance. Be creative and sharp show that you really do want to be successful. This is a very tricky question so better be confident, ambitious and not overly.  Let your employer know that you are the type of persons who plans ahead and set goals. Make sure that the goals you have set matches the one of your career path because employers will want to keep you for a longer time. The question does not mean necessarily that all employers ask same questions but others would ask you where do you see yourself in 10 years? I intend to be leading expert in Microsoft Word Software, investing in my own company a challenging and rewarding environment. Like I said be creative, think quick since the employer may ask you, where would you like to be promoted in the company? Just answer you are not sure but you are open and flexible to any opportunity present to you. The question where do you to be promoted is always an ice breaker. Can you imagine applying for Customer service position and at a job interview you tell your employer you  want to be promoted as the senior manager? Oh boy!

Tips you must keep in mind, your employer want to know if you are the same person on your resume CV . You must show your employer you are the jobseeker described by showing all your qualities, accomplishments, experience face that matches what your employer seeks. Keep in mind that job interview is all about presentation, your employer will be looking at how you are dressed, your manners, eye contact, handshake and confidence. Your interview will be analysed on critical things like your thinking ability, work ethic, communication skills, your ability to handle difficult situations. Never lie because you will be out. Be the same person described on your CV and proof that to your employer. A liar is someone who has poor listening ability, someone who  do no understand the job they applied, someone who  is not  familiar with what the company does, please note when an employer has concerns about your honesty they will  want to dig deeper to questions. If they like your answers they will move on. If an employer repeats the same question think straight and note that you have not given an answer. Be communicative, polite, well mannered not nervous although if you are nervous you can discuss this with your employer why you feel nervous to avoid the employer giving  you unfavourable conclusions. Always be prepared to whatever asked questions and answers. Do you have the skills experience required for the job? Yes! Do you think you are well able to work in a team? Yes! It is your job so convince your employer. Know yourself if you have all the adaptive skills required for the position, be prepared. Finally take note that all employers want to hear about what advantages you will bring to the company interests so listen to the question and give your  answer. You will be rated a suitable candidate due to your listening ability. Good luck all in your job search.
