Dating With Positivity

Dating With Positivity

Dating with energy and enthusiasm is crucial if you want to make a good first impression. Would you want to meet someone on a date who acts like they want to be somewhere else? Probably not. If you are not feeling 100 percent, maybe you need a short break from the dating scene. There is a right time and a wrong time to date. Dating with a negative attitude is a definite no-no. But what are the signs that you need to recognize in order to avoid dating disasters?

Depressed Dating

You know when you're feeling down. Feeling this way can happen to anyone at one time or another. If you have a date around the corner, you will need to focus your mind on the positive aspects of the date and not let your mood ruin the experience. Use friends, or get professional help to lift your mood. Dating this person could be the key to your future happiness. If you are not quite ready, tell them so. Be honest, and arrange a date for another time. It's better to be late and ready, than to be on time and ill-prepared.

Dating to Fill Time

Your social life may be a little quieter than usual, but don't use this as an excuse to date the first person that asks you out. You need to be open to developing new relationships, but not too open so that you lead people on. Dating is a great opportunity to meet new people, but if you are simply going on a date because you are bored, you might inadvertently let the wrong type of person into your life.

Desperate Dating

Don't think that dating as many people as possible will give you a better chance of finding love. Yes, you will get to meet all kinds of "interesting" people, but if you agree to date absolutely anyone, you might be missing out on meeting someone who is more your type. Focus on the people with real potential, and expend your valuable energy and time on someone who could make a difference to your life.

Unaffordable Dating

You may want to take your date to the the best restaurant in town, but if that means you can't afford to eat for the rest of the week, is it really worth it? Being honest when you are dating is important, especially in the early stages. You might set a precedent, if you begin with a lavish first date. Give a good first impression, not a fake one.

Sleep-Dating

If you are in a job that constantly leaves you feeling tired and stressed, maybe you need to reconsider your life and work balance. If you are dating people, it's especially important to have enough energy to listen properly to your date, and concentrate on what he or she is saying. If you are too tired to do this, you probably shouldn't be on the date in the first place. At least have the decency to get enough sleep the night before an important date.

Scruffy Dating

You probably wouldn't be impressed if your date turned up in dirty shoes and 10-year-old jeans. Don't be that shabby-looking person. Make the effort to look clean and smart. You will make a much better first impression, and increase your chances of a second meeting. Be well prepared – mentally and physically.

If you are lucky enough to have a date in the near future, always remember to approach it with positivity and enthusiasm. You might, after all, be meeting your dream person. Don't let bad planning, bad attitude, or laziness ruin your chances of a second date and possible romance. Be honest, sensible, and respect your date. Don't waste your dating opportunities. Be positive and be prepared.
