A different rating system.

My system doesn't even have a 10. It only goes up to 4. You can even use it for anything in the universe.

Here it is:

1) - "Nice to look at"

This could be that woman you see in the bar or walking down the street. It could also be a mountain, sunset/sunrise, a car, or whatever fits in this category.

2) - "Nice to be with"

That woman mentioned in the last category won't be in this one, unless you get to know her. Chances are, you won't get to know her, so she'd only be a 1. Some people love skiing, mountain climbing, or even just living near the mountains, so some things could be a 2 also.

3) - "A combination of 1 and 2"

As far as relationships go, this is the best rating, although your partner may not necessarily be a 1 at first. I have found that 2's often turn into 3's with time. Not because your partner's looks change, but because they are so much a 2, that you begin to "see" the 1 in them, or even see them as 1's because of the emotional bond. This is where those mountain lovers fit.

4) - "None of the above"

I think you can figure this one out yourself.

As for me, when I'm looking for someone special, I'm looking for 2's. You can't see this with pictures on a website, but you can get a taste of it by chatting, e-mail, meeting, or any other form of interaction. Sometimes 1's can turn into 4's.We all know those types.
