How to Tell When a Guy is Not Serious: Dating Mr. Wrong

How to Tell When a Guy is Not Serious Dating Mr Wrong

Online dating gives single women the opportunity to find likeminded guys that are looking for friendship, relationships and eventual marriage. The best dating sites give people the chance to post numerous details about themselves as well as what they are looking for in a relationship. But not every guy wants a serious relationship, and dating profiles can be deceiving, especially when people may not know what they want. It can be hard to tell when a guy you have been dating is not serious, but several clues will give him away.

Reluctance to Visit Family

When a guy is reluctant to visit the family of his girlfriend, he might not be serious about the relationship. In his mind, this is a complete waste of time. The guy might not be a very good actor, and he will not want to go through the drama of interacting with the family. He might even feel a bit guilty, even though he is the only one that knows how he really feels - at least for now. In time he will not be able to keep up the ruse, but if he is benefiting from the relationship in one way or another, he will tell his girlfriend what he thinks she wants to hear. Once he is cornered he will end the relationship, unless she catches on first.

Money Issues

These days a guy is not automatically expected to pay the bill when out on a date. However, when a guy is unusually reluctant to pay for dinners, movies and all other activities, he either lacks sufficient funds, or he is not serious about the relationship. Friends usually pay for their own meals and movie tickets, but those in a relationship are supposed to be more than just friends. Even if this guy has expressed his love, he might not be serious when it comes to the future. A guy that really loves his significant other will want to pay for dates, especially if he is serious about the relationship and envisions a future with this person.

Talk of a Solitary Future

If a guy is not really serious about a relationship, he might not bring up anything regarding the future. If he does, the conversation will not include his current girlfriend. He might talk about moving to another state or doing something that would obviously not include a girlfriend - at least not his current one. This is disheartening to say the least, and it is obvious that he is not serious about the relationship. Those listening closely will know exactly what he means, even if he does not realize that he is giving away how he really feels about the future.

Short Visits

Visits are often short when a guy is not serious about a relationship. Someone that truly cares about his girlfriend wants to spend as much time with her as possible. A guy that just wants time in the bedroom, a home-cooked meal, or something to break up the monotony of life will spend very little time at a girlfriend's home. A guy that eats and runs time and time again is not really serious, especially if he does not stay when the menu does not meet his approval.

In addition to the aforementioned displays of disinterest, a guy that is not really serious will be hot one day and cold the next. He might be loving, warm and kind when he wants something, and once he gets what he wants he will become aloof. When a guy is not really serious, his moods and behavior can go from hot to cold within a span of a day. His moods will go up and down like a rollercoaster, and it will affect how his girlfriend feels as well. If he does not end the relationship on a whim, she will finally have enough and choose to move on.
