Reducing our needs and possessions will give us more time to focus on spiritual practices. We can avoid lifestyle diseases and maintain a sound mind in a healthy body.

This reputation can help us foster worthy relationships with our family members, friends, and colleagues. We also learn to ignore occasional bad behavior by others, knowing that everybody is human and therefore prone to errors now and then.
