HAH In my case it seem breathing is good enough to make a mistake roll eyes

RE: 4 Things You Might Be Doing To Attract Online Dating Scammers

This is pretty accurate. However, it is not only 'men' who are the scammers. I have been scammed twice: once for money and once, which was much more insideous, offering an exorbitant amount of money to manage a "Trust Fund" if I got married to the woman. The whole thing was so 'lop-sided' as to information given being full of 'hooks' - statements that make no sense - "love" after the first message exchange, outlandish stories with huge promises, etc. Be careful with your Heart and use your "gut intuition"!

RE: How old is too old!

I intend to keep on having children until I am 90 something. Men can do this. After that I will let them squabble over the estate. Darwin will determine which one gets it. Macht Nichts. This plan requires all (or most) of my dates be fertile and of child bearing age.

RE: How old is too old!

I have experienced the same scenario. I do not understand the temerity of men who have reached our age. Surely they have enough self-confidence to either greet me or answer an uncomplicated, hello. I do not fault them for arduous past relationships, but would hope that the desire for a new life would strengthen their resolve to grasp that new life and love ir partner.

I suspect Ms Cougar may need to be my default.

RE: How to Spot a Lie

Much of what was said, above, is subjective, as the article states.

Simple logic--that has been know for centuries, since Plato, Aristotle--is the key. I look, especially, for contradictions. If a profile states it is female, but has what I term "gender confusion" in their descriptions, then you can see that there is a high likelihood that something is amiss.

Here is an actual example from a profile that sent me a "like," earlier today:

"More About Me
I am a happy woman who want....

More About my Match
I am man who love and take care of a woman...."

Obviously, there's a problem here.

Also this morning, one of the regular bloggers posted an alligator story. However, when I checked the actual Orlando Newspaper article that he quoted as a source, the Newspaper clearly stated that the fence was aluminum, whereas the blogger stated it was wrought iron.

Such details are not just flukes. You can find them continuously. The Internet abounds and excels in disinformation.

In order to deceive people, one must change the details, and present them as truth. Liars, can only wait to be caught.

So, always ensure that anybody you talk to is self-consistent. I will already tell you, that 99.9% of the profiles on this site, are not self-consistent. Most of them have places like: Los Angeles, DC; New York, CA; etc... That is the place to start. If their profile isn't accurate, then most likely, other things won't be accurate either. (It is proper to obfuscate your location, especially in this day and age. But one should at least be on the correct continent. For example, mine says, Pwetty Blue Planet, WA. I am, in fact, in WA, but I only give out the city to people who are nice and contact me directly. Don't confuse safety, with dishonesty.) Other examples are eye color, hair color, height, weight, etc.

If the person can't spell very well, but they have PhD listed or in the description / occupation, then you might want to double-check those details. I do. But, I don't have issues with most of it. Many people can't write and will copy things from the Internet into their profile (a mild form of deception). But, scammers do exactly the same thing! So, always, always check the profile details. I for one don't want to misrepresent myself as a woman! You can rest assured, that any mistakes in gender, are pretty large mistakes, even when taking into account language differences. I write all of my own words and sentences, and never copy, unless citing something in quotes, as above. But, then again, I'm an Amateur Author.

Hope this helps. My opinions are my own.

Shalom,
Iyyov

RE: The Importance of Listening in Relationships

One or both partners may spend too much time talking and not enough time listening. It is important to express your feelings verbally, but it is equally important to listen.

I thank the staff for posting this article.

It is the root cause of many failed relationships, including infidelity. Not listening to one's partner and understanding the message can lead to many problems in a relationship. It is very important also to find the time to listen to the other partner's concern and understand it. Don't say, "I don't have the time now.' Create the time for him or her.

And when you talk, talk and don't babble, give the other partner a chance to offer a feedback. And wait for the other partner to finish. Not only is it respectful, it gives you a chance to understand the message being conveyed.
