But because things are the way they are most men would not want a women who does not work and would not be content to just give her spending money. They would say hey, go get a job if you want to buy a new dress. I think men who would actually like a stay at home wife who gets spending money are more the exception than the rule these days. Of course on the other hand I've had boyfriends who thought that it was ok for them to not work and stay at home and sleep all day and do nothing but play video games while I worked full time and paid for everything AND cooked and cleaned... put an end to that one, that's for sure! And on that token, if I am not willing to do that for a guy should I really expect that he do it for me? Of course I'd actually cook and clean, unlike that lazy ex of mine

A good point of view from a man's proception. In spite of how you wrote this I must disagree. For starters I don't give the men credit for who I am.

I am deeper than the women you describe although it is true that many are just into themselves. For lack of a better word shallow seems appropriate.

In the case of the men who are shallow they are all looking for a Barbie doll who will commit all of herself to them. When you read between the lines it means that they are possessive and excruiatingly jealous. If we have children then we are cursed.

You last statement about how the women can come home all is forgiven. Why assume the women need forgiving? As for the shopping and the like, we don't need someone to finance that for us and at the end of the day it has been more fun than listening to a demanding, whiney guy. Trust me on this one.

I quite agree with the information in the article. Being a single woman who is raising a young granddaughter it is hard to even read a profile where a guy does not say no way or something just as harsh about kids.

I am not going to hide the position I am in because I feel like things will start on a false note. Honesty is very important in a relationship, so why hide my granddaughter. When I am put to the side because I have her I feel as though I don't need them either. It will take longer to finally meet someone, but with everything out in the open I don't have to be concerned that I will be canned for not disclosing my circumstances.

It took me 3 months to cry, 6 months to try to stop thinking about it for every 1 minutes,1 year to finally get on with life. The only obvious thing that helped me was talking to my friends, taking some time out, shared some tears and finally its stopped and I could get to meet other people but the memories linger on. But smile that at least you had a good time and life goes on.

I don't know who wrote the article... But it was poorly proofread and edited.

Not just that, but some guys are too shy to do these things. A girl looking for this with her shy BF could think he's not really in love, when in fact he is madly in love, just too shy or nervous to make these moves. Other guys just aren't this emotional. And honestly, good players use all this body language to their advantage for a quick pump and dump.

I am in a tough position... I am a single dad with custody of my daughter. I love her with all of my heart and she's my world, but because of "first impressions" I am reluctant to mention anything right away about her. Probably more confused. I know a good profile is a honest profile, but I won't mention my daughter until the ice is broken. And just as you say; "The two things that can cause you to go from possible soul mate to the recycle bin in just one click are your weight and having children. It appears that American singles would even tolerate a smoker before taking on an instant family." sadly is a reality with some people. I would like some feedback on this, because my most PROUD quaulity is raising my 13yr old girl myself and done so for 11 years!! I am pretty young at 31, but I would never seek a replacement for her mother. I am confused as hell... Any feedback would be awesome!

What a person over fifty is looking for is a great companion that takes reasonably good care of themselves. So be proactive, don't sit around, simply get up and open the door on the rest of your life. The best is yet to come.

The last two sentences of the above statement are pivotal. I've met many people, at all age ranges that have just given up. Even been tempted there myself .... but, I'm not one to just sit around and wait for the love of my life to fall from the sky.
Get out and get involved .... volunteer organizations, coffee at your favorite bookstore, civic events, just anything actually .... you just never know who's around the corner ....
