Before I left for my short getaway weekend to Bali this last weekend, some of my adult students told me another name for Bali is "Surga Dunia" Meaning 'Heaven on Earth" or paradise I guess....
Arriving there over the weekend, I can now fully comprehend what they were going on about and why they would call it 'heaven on earth'. It is pretty amazing to note here that there seems to be no rules for drinking alcohol. We sat in front of thisbar facing the road and drank beer and cocktails right there. While motorcyles and cars passed by. One of the guys wanted to get some money from his ATM bank and he walked there with the beer in his hand, yes on the road which surprised me. Every ladies' off the beach were wearing their bikini
and walk freely on the roads towards their hotels or restos'. THis one didn't surprise me but I
could easily guess now why my adult students called it 'heaven on earth'...
As the night wore out, I asked a New Zealander and an Australian guys sitting next to me whether they could drink like what we were doing back home. And they both laughed out loudl..'Hell No" "Welcome to Bali"
The next day, my friend and I couldn't get any hire car so we decided to hire a scooter instead. I was driving pretty much, dodging cars and heavy traffic - the best things about scooters and we even went through a one way road. So my friend yelled ' we are going the wrong way' and I screamed back, Welcome to Bali where we could bend the rules. (I learnt that phrase last night from those guys...)...
:laugh
I wonder if there are places of such in your country where this phrase is applicable 'There are no rules or Rules can be bent"
Got a call from my daughter telling me about her weird dream last night.
"Mom. please do not take the trip you are planning on this weekend?"
Me: Why not baby bear (am fond of calling my kids)
D: Dreamt that my front tooth came off...
Me: So what does that have to do with my weekend going away plan?"
D: My friends told me that it is a sign someone very close to me is going to die.
And I even googled it. It says the same thing and am kinda worried."
Me: oh come on now baby bear. It is only a dream for crying out loud"
Her phone call got me thinking this morning and still is. Dreams are dreams..
Dreams are just some sort of colourful images or things that beautify or entertain us in our sleep at night...
Well, that is my definition of a dream anyway, nothing more, nothing less....
What do you guys here think?
I have been on this site for many years now on and off of course. I got very addicted when I first started joining the blogs back in 2009, made heaps of lovely cyber friends here and just loved. It was like another place for me to come to in my own little world and interact with everyone that I had never met in person but yet could have this laugh and interesting conversation going...What a cool world!!!
THen I left in 2012, and make a quick peek here every now then. Several times I just came in to say Hi to everybody and off again into my real world out there somewhere - God knows!!
And today, I am sitting here now, read through the blogs. So many have changed., The layout of this site itself has changed. Read through the blogs and came across the few that were here back then when I was still alive and active on the blogs.
Year 2017, - it is always nice to have a place where one could come to and just read and interact with others from all over the world and I will try and stick it out here again for a while....that is if I am welcome back lol...
Anyway, all the best in 2007,,,,
what is the status of it in your country? Is it legal or illegal?
Should it be legalised for the reasons above???
here in North Sumatera, Bukit Lawang Rainforest, home to the famous Orangutans.
Had two friends over for the holidays from England and America and I took them for a whole day trekking in this jungle with the help of our guide of course. We climbed 4 very steep hills and enjoyed watching these wild orangutans swinging freely in the trees. Some of them are semi tamed and they even came so close to us.
We started off at 8am and arrived at our campsite at about 5.30pm. We camped out in jungle for the night and then tubed down this very strong current river for almost 45 minutes. It was quite frightening but we did enjoy it...
Sharing some photos we took on the trip. A pretty untouched place to explore for those of you are interested to check it out...
All the trekkers were from all over the world...

In which one could really be classified as senile? Or could it be that forgetfullness happens out of our own stupidity? Is it some kind of a disease to get so forgetfull? I am 46 years of age but it seems like this is becoming more of a problem. I am wondering if any of you here especially in their forties are experiencing the same thing.....
