Buying a new car in Ireland?...

Many people dont know when they buy a new car in the Irish republic (Southern Ireland) that the VRT (vehicle regisration tax) they are paying is an ILLEGAL tax not sanctioned by the European Union...
The Irish government has been fined by the EU on countless occasions for the infraction but continues to collect this ILLEGAL revenue stream because it is still profitable enough to do so...
While speaking with a friend in the new car sales business yesterday, he confirmed to me that a few years back a staggering 51% of the total take on new cars in Ireland was government revenue, divided into two particular tax types...
While I dont know the precise split i will research and get back...
This is plainly the stuff of bad dreams, but wait, theres more...
You can get a new car now for as little as 9995 euros on the road, however, thats only for around another week or so...
Dealers are desperatly trying to push for last minute sales and along with what appears to be another "gimmick" are dropping the dealer delivery and related charges, again, im not in posession of the exact figures, but i believe thats another 500 or so euros...THEY COULD HAVE DONE IT SOONER....
While having a new car is nice enough, its worth keeping in mind, The Irish public is being milked at every turn...
Kinda makes me mad...but then again, I wouldn't buy a new car on account of depreciation...
But thats just me!....

Customers...

Work is work, we all have to earn a living, and some of us have to deal with the "paying public" for services supplied / provided...
So, where is it written that we the service providers have to stand by and take abuse from ignorant customers who b*tch, moan and spite there way through there dealings with counter staff...
Many of these employees are on the most basic of wages and should not have to endure such intollerable behaviour, but "the customer is always right" right?...Er no actually...The customer in many cases is uninformed and oblivious to the fact that the service industries are not an exact science, and service advisors are for the most part doing there best to help under often very difficult circumstances (low staff levels, long hours, insufficient training and support)...
Please, when you feel your blood pressure rising in a situation with service and counter staff, consider there position as you would like to have your own position considered in your line of work...
There not trying to piss you off, there doing there job to the best of there ability...
Think about that before you "give out" to them...
For what its worth, I dont deal directly with the public, but many friends and work collegues do and have in the past, and opinion is unanimous, akward customers is the number one reason for many of these good people leaving the public service industries...
