Blind Golfer's Joke

Stevie Wonder and Jack Nicklaus are in a bar. Nicklaus turns to Wonder and says, "How is the singing career going?" Stevie Wonder says, "Not too bad, the latest album has gone into the top 10, so all in all I think it is pretty good. By the way how is the golf." Nicklaus replies: "Not too bad, I am not winning as much as I used to but I'm still making a bit of money. I have some problems with my swing but I think I've got that right now." "I always find that when my swing goes wrong I need to stop playing for a while and think about it, then the next time I play it seems to be all right," says Stevie. "You play golf!?" asks Jack. Stevie says, "Yes, I have been playing for years." "But I thought you were blind; how can you play golf if you are blind?" Jack asks. " I get my caddie to stand in the middle of the fairway and he calls to me. I listen for the sound of his voice and play the ball towards him, then when I get to where the ball lands the caddie moves to the green or further down the fairway and again I play the ball towards his voice," explains Stevie. "But how do you putt?" Nicklaus wondered. "Well," says Stevie, "I get my caddie to lean down in front of the hole and call to me with his head on the ground and I just play the ball to the sound of his voice." Nicklaus says, "What is your handicap?" "Well, I play off scratch," Stevie assures Jack. Nicklaus is incredulous and says to Stevie, "We must play a game sometime." Wonder replies, "Well, people don't take me seriously so I only play for money, and I never play for less than $100,000 a hole." Nicklaus thinks it over and says, "OK, I'm up for that. When would you like to play?" "I don't care - any night next week is OK with me."

Anger, How Do You Handle It

Lately on the blogs there seems to be a lot of anger among our blogging family. I ran accross this and wanted to share this.

Anger turns into resentment, resentment turns into bitterness, bitterness turns into unforgiveness, unforgiveness turns into a defiled conscience. Pretty soon, we become captives of our own anger.

Anger is nothing more than a sophisticated version of a temper tantrum. Just because we can define it with eloquent speech doesn't mean it is any more justified. We are still mad that we can't get what we want. And our anger overflows out of us and defiles everyone around us.

Instead of nursing, rehearsing, conversing about, and dispersing our anger, we need to reverse our anger before it hurts us and others!

How do you reverse anger? You do it with forgiveness, loving kindness, and tenderness. You go to the person toward whom you have directed your anger, and seek forgiveness!thumbs up

I might add that besides seeking forgiveness, you might want to throw a hug in there!hug

Waiting for the Sun

A man sat at home one day and looked at the sun. He wondered where it went at night so he hatched a plan. He would watch the sun! He woke early the next day and went to the top of the hill next to his house and folded open his chair and sat. 7 o'clock came and he had some tea and toast. 12 o'clock came and he had his sandwiches. 5 o'clock came and he had some soup. 8 o'clock came. The sun had begun to set over the horizon. He waited and waited. The sun went down. He waited and waited and waited until... it dawned on him. Gotcha!

God doesn't always choose to flaten the mountain...but He has promised to help you climb it!

Don't tell God how big the storm is...tell the storm how big God is!

More is accomplished by folding the hands...than by wringing them!

Even in our messes...God blesses!

When we start kneeling down...things start looking up!

Health Benefits of Oil Pulling

What are the best oils for oil pulling? Intrigued by the wide number of health benefits reported over the internet, there must be one oil that works better than others, right? Well, while a number of different oils can be used for pulling, one rule of thumb is to use the best quality oil you can find – think unrefined, cold-pressed, organic oils. Likewise, you want a natural plant-based oil. The most common oils used for pulling include sesame, sunflower, olive, and coconut oil. However, cod liver, avocado, cedar nut, canola, walnut, castor, black cumin seed, and safflower oil can also be used. The key is to note that certain oils offer specific benefits to the body.

Oil Pulling for Health: Background, Oils to Use and Benefits

An ancient Ayurvedic remedy used for o*al health and detoxification, oil pulling has made a comeback as a popular health trend in recent years. The process involves pulling pathogens and other harmful organisms from the mouth and body, which offers extensive benefits as far as o*al health. However, the practice does more than just treat issues of the mouth.

What is Oil Pulling?

An age-old remedy, oil pulling is a treatment that employs natural substances to clean and detoxify the teeth and gums. At this level, the process also helps naturally whiten the teeth and improve gum health by removing bacteria.

The basic concept behind the practice is that the oil is swished around the mouth for a short period (10 minutes) of time each day. The process helps draw out bacteria and infection in the mouth, but research suggests it goes much further than that.

What Does It Do?

The remedy works as a natural cleansing process. As the oil is sloshed around the mouth, a certain level of friction is created. This friction creates a cleaning effect that removes unwanted particles as well as germs. The concept of “like dissolves like” also applies in this situation, as the oil used is capable of cutting through plaque and removing toxins as the compounds are so similar.

Does It Really Have Benefits Beyond my Mouth?

Many people view oil pulling as solely an o*al health treatment, but when practiced regularly, the process benefits the rest of the body as well. In addition to improving o*al health, oil pulling can also:

-Relieve migraines
-Correct hormone imbalances
-Reduce inflammation
-Treat digestive issues
-Reduce eczema
-Support normal kidney function
-Improve vision
-Reduce allergies
-Detoxify the body of heavy metals

Whether you are experiencing a significant health condition or not, oil pulling will likely improve your health and your quality of life. Try it for yourself today and let me know what you think!thumbs up

Obituary: Jesus Christ, A.D. 33

Jesus Christ, 33, of Nazareth, died Friday on Mount Calvary, also known as Golgotha, the place of the skull. Betrayed by the apostle Judas Iscariot, Jesus was crucified by the Romans, by order of the Ruler Pontius Pilate. The causes of death were crucifixion, extreme exhaustion, severe torture, and loss of blood.

Jesus Christ, a descendant of Abraham, was a member of the house of David. He was the step son of the late Joseph, a carpenter of Nazareth and Mary, His devoted mother. (He often substantiated His claim that His true Father was God.) Jesus was born in the city of Bethlehem, Judea. He is survived by His mother Mary, His faithful apostles, and numerous disciples.

Jesus was self-educated and spent the last three years of this life working as a teacher. Jesus also occasionally worked as a medical doctor, and it is reported that He healed many patients. Until the time of His death, Jesus was teaching and sharing the good news, healing the sick, touching the lonely, feeding the hungry, and helping the poor.

Jesus was most noted for telling parables about His Father’s kingdom and performing miracles, such as feeding over 5,000 people with only five loaves of bread and two fish and healing a man who was born blind. On the day before His death, He held a last supper celebrating the Passover Feast, at which He foretold His death.

The body was quickly buried in a stone grave, which was donated by Joseph of Arimathea, a secret disciple. By order of Pontius Pilate, a boulder was rolled in front of the tomb. Roman soldiers were put on guard.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that everyone try to live as Jesus did. Donations may be sent to anyone in need. —Author Unknown

P. S.: A remarkable follow up report to this obituary: On the third day after the crucifixion, His followers discovered that the tomb was empty! Jesus had told them He would rise from the dead, and true to His Word, He still lives. Read Luke 24 for the amazing account of what happened on the third day.
