As a woodpecker was visiting various trees in the forest , he thought he heard someone crying. Flying here and there he found a little tree that was crying. He stopped by the little tree and asked. "Little tree , why are you crying ?" The little tree said while sobbing , "I am lost , I am afraid , and I don't know where my mother is ". Trying to be helpful , the woodpecker says , " I don't remember if you are a son of a Beech , or a son of a Birch, but as I remember , your mother was the best Ash I ever stuck my pecker in". studecar
I must admit I am behind times, but then I am old, as well as old fashioned. Shucks - I even look for the crank on the telephone ! A kid in elementary school probably understands a PC more than I. So considering all that, I request some input from some of you who are into those electronic wizards. I was given a computer for Father's Day a while back, and I must admit I like it , but do well to turn it on.
A few months back I turned it on , then a message came on the monitor which stated , "someone is using this computer". How could that be , I have never given anyone my password. I changed my password. I did at that time receive notice that my hard drive was almost full and the"system restore" would not function. I have a relative who uses his PC in his business and I ask him about the problem. he checked and found there were 2 items on the hard drive which took up all the space. He is pretty savvy, he managed to clean them out. The PC worked better , but then I received a message which stated, "A party asks permission to use this computer." I inquire, - who is that party? Answer came back, "Party unknown".
You who are intelligent about computers, please give me your idea of why this is happening. and what I can do to keep it from happening again. studecar
(not in computers)
it happened today in Florida, when will it stop. answer - it wont until some screw-ups are corrected. the first thing is the correct the interpretation of the 2nd amendment by the nra, the gun mgfs, the gun sellers, and the judges of the supreme court who were bought off by the above. ask the average person what does the amendment say, answer "I can have a gun". that is true - in part - what else does it state ( the part which has been ignored with the blessing of the supreme court ) how about - in order to maintain a militia. how many units of the militia have been formed or are in existence ? answer , none ! one thing the amendment does not say is - you have the right to kill people. maybe that is the whole ball of wax. i would recommend ( oh boy - am i ever going to receive rebuffs for this and what follows) a new law be enacted by congress , it is this: any person who kills another person with a firearm, automatically receives an irrefutable death sentence unless the shooter can prove without a doubt he/she was in harms way. mental excuse can not be considered , while it is probably the shooter is off his rocker for considering what is going to happen, and doing it.
i am not against a person owning a gun , i have owned guns, but i never had any desire to kill anyone whether i was concerned about the penalty or not. if the law was adopted , it wouldn't solve all the problems , but i believe if a person knew he or she would be put to death if they did the killing , and there would be no way of escaping the death sentence, they would think again.
in addition to the above law, i believe whom ever sold the gun , manufactured the gun ,or promoted the sale of the gun, or was responsible for the action to get the gun in the hands of the killer, shall be charged as an accomplice. think about it , i did not say take away your guns,i did not say the 2nd amendment was wrong,i only want people to be responsible and having a law that will make people think about the consequences could help.

I heard Sen. Flake's speech this morning and I was astounded, he is an old fashioned Republican, he doesn't hide behind lies which are so prevalent now days , he tells it like it is. I would rate his speech along side of
FDR's Pearl Harbor address and Lincoln's Gettysburg address. I would vote any day of the week for Sen. Flake
- and I am a Democrat. When I vote , I vote as an American, the party doesn't tell me how to vote. I believe it is idiotic for a voter - Democrat or Republican - to say , "I have to vote for him/her because they are a member of my party". Neither party has all the answers. Too many voters do not study the candidates, rather they listen to what the candidates spew when running for office. Two parties need to discuss what is necessary for the benefit of our nation and not have the attitude of "It's our way , or no way". studecar
I heard on the news this evening that Trump's disapproval rating is the lowest of any U.S. President in history, it is 63%, according to the " Pew Report." His campaign slogan has been changed, now it is :
MAKE AMERICA HATE AGAIN ! studecar
I heard on the news about the killing of 20 + at a church in Texas today (Sunday), how sad to attend church and that sort of thing happpened. What the H*** is wrong with the idiots in Washington who will not protect its citizens but will protect the gun lobby, 2nd amendment ? The amendment is not being followed, only half of it is, tell me
where is the militia provided by the amendment? Maybe if some kook raided the U.S. legislature maybe they would wake up,it is evident they do nothing to earn the money they receive. Not this kook, I don't own a gun of any kind , and if I did, I couldn't pull the trigger if I pointed it at someone. studecar
Trump has no shame , the way he criticized the mayor of San Juan is reprehensible. Some years ago a man made a
statement ( I can't remember who he was ) that applies to Trump, "He was born with a silver foot in his mouth". How true. The only way Trump would learn respect would be to put him in a small high fenced area with no food, no water, no shelter , and no power - therefore no tweets , and leave him there for a week, maybe then he would realize
what the people in Puerto Rico are going through.. Seriously though , it probably wouldn't phase him , it is so inborn - but he could blame Obama for all the problems. studecar
At last Trump has said something I can accept , it concerns the ATH-A-LEETS ( please notice the spelling) who will not stand at attention when the National Anthem is played . I agree , the SOBs (that stands for - sorry obdurate ballplayer -
OR - whatever) should be fired. When they don't respect the Star Spangled Banner , they are showing disrespect for our country , their citizenship should be revoked , and they should be shipped to some far off island or country. I say , load them on a plane and when they are half way there over the ocean, open the door to the airplane and tell them to jump and swim the rest of the way to wherever.
I gave 4 years of my life for my country during WWII to save it for freedom , not for some idiot who does not show respect for it, and am well proud of it. I received an injury which caused me to have to give up a profession I loved, but I had learned to live with it until 1976 at which time I had to leave it. I was able to work at a menial job until I was able to secure Social Security at age 62. I never filed for compensation for the injury because I knew there were other Veterans who needed it more than I , and I do not ask for pity . When I learn of people who are paid high salaries and they show disregard for the privilege of being able to do so , I come apart at the seams , and I say, "Fire the SOBs".

Sen. McConnell and Trump and Trump's Brown Shirts are trashing the Republican Party, as well as the citizens of our great country. Brown Shirts, you ask ?
I am quite sure many of you have no idea what Brown Shirts are , or were. That was a group of supporters of Hitler in the '20's and 30"'s , later to be known as Storm Troupers. They did undercover efforts to get Hitler in full control of the German Government. One of the primary tasks was to find out who were of Jewish Decent because Hitler despised the Jews. As a result of the despicable acts of the Brown Shirts , thousands of Jews were put in concentration camps and most of them were put to death. The Brown Shirts were interested in finding all of that nation's personal records. Now Trump wants the voting records of all American's voting records just as the Brown Shirts of Germany did. Your voting record is none of Trump's business , it is strictly your business and no one else's. As a result of Trump's attitude , enrollment of the American Nazi Party is on the rise.
A few evenings ago I heard a female spokesman of Trumps , commenting on the trash Trump laid on a female news anchor , and she said Trump was a fighter was why he was justified in his comment. Any time a person runs for a political office , they will receive scorn for some of their ideas. It reminds me of President Truman's retort , "If you can't take the heat , get out of the kitchen".
Folks , you need to do some serious thinking of what is going on. Trump says , about the voting records, "What are they afraid of?". What about his income taxes ? I say, what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
Jewish - Muslim - Protestant - color - nationality - it all ends up in the same basket.

Next week we get to vote, let me encourage each of you to vote and above all , vote for what is good for America - not necessarily a party or a corporation. And remember, belonging to a party , any party, does not necessarily qualify a person for the office.
Please forgive my ignorance, I am an old timer and I don't understand much of the modern electronics. I want to ask a question, by the picture of some bloggers is a green dot inside a white circle , what does this mean ? When I taught (31 years, retired in 1976) the only thing we had was an electric typewriter, no curser, no mouse except live ones. Thanks to anyone who will explain green dots. studecar
