Are you an "innie" or an "outie"?
**
From the Wikipedia description...
Internal locus of control -
- belief that events in our lives are due to our own actions
- when receiving test results, people tend to praise or blame themselves and their abilities
External locus of control -
- people tend to praise or blame an external factor such as the teacher or the test
-also-
Many internals have grown up with families modeling typical internal beliefs; these families emphasized effort, education, responsibility and thinking, and parents typically gave their children rewards they had promised them.
In contrast, externals are typically associated with lower socioeconomic status. Societies experiencing social unrest increase the expectancy of being out-of-control; therefore, people in such societies become more external.
Regarding Emotional Energy and Self-Esteem, it would seem that having an *internal* locus of control would be more helpful.
What does this require?
Do you feel you are your own boss? Do you feel free to do the things you believe are necessary?
Do you feel trapped and stuck in your current job or situation? Does government or culture or religion or poverty or education keep you from doing what you want/need to do?

There is no need to answer the questions ... but I am interested in your thoughts. I wonder about things like this ... in what situations we benefit from being in control and the situations where it may be best for others to have control over us.
