Space and the wonders of the universe

Facts from science.

Right now, in this very moment, we are all traveling through space — and space is only some 62 miles from the surface of our planet. Earth revolves around the sun at around 66,000 miles per hour. That’s pretty quick, but it pales in comparison to the speed of the sun, which orbits the Milky Way in one galactic year (about 225 million Earth years) at about 483,000 miles per hour. Still not fast enough? Well, the Milky Way itself is traveling at an astounding 1.3 million miles per hour.

We are all, therefore, traveling through space at an incredible speed, with everything we know and love held in place by gravity. Space and the wider universe, however, largely remain a mystery. Only in recent decades have we even begun to venture beyond our own atmosphere, beginning in 1961 when cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin became the first human in space.

Since then, space exploration has progressed rapidly, and humanity becoming a space-faring civilization — at least to other planets in our solar system — is now a real possibility. As Carl Sagan said in the 1980s, “We have lingered long enough on the shores of the cosmic ocean. We are ready at last to set sail for the stars.”

The concept is mind-boggling and majestic, intimidating and inspiring. It’s no surprise, then, that space has long been the subject of much wonder and speculation in the minds of people from all walks of life. Here are some quotes on the majesty of space, from philosophers, scientists, science fiction writers, astronauts, and beyond. astounding 1.3 million miles per hour.

Area 51 and UFOs

What's your belief about them?

One time we drove from Tahoe to Las Vegas and passed by this place.

It was fascinating to know about this most guarded secret of the military. I researched about it. During the early 90s, Google or Wikipedia wasn't around yet so I had to go to the library and found out more about this place.

Well, what was printed then was so limited that sometimes my curiosity wasn't quite sated as it is now.

Anyways is there anyone who believes in this unidentified aerial phenomena? (UAP) Or it's just one BIG CONSPIRACY THEORY.

Please share your experiences or mere opinion(s) about it if you have any.

I'm fascinated considering how tiny SPECK we are in this vast UNIVERSE.

Good day everyone. teddybear

What is wrong

Is when you join the attack of a blogger against snother poster.

You blatantly say: "Oh I will hibernate and leave until this attacked poster is gone." But you're still here?

My recommendation is, don't patronize expressed hatred. Don't act so immature as though you're perfect. We make mistakes. We don't intend to keep making those mistakes. We get punished as meted and deserved. We change.

Move on and forgive. Give peace a chance.

That's all I'm saying.

It's much sweeter to spread love than hate.

Maybe AI will correct all these human flaws one day.

Meantime I enjoy not being a cyborg.

AI and how it impacts human life

This blog is inspired by Daniela and Elon Musk.

I listened to a video of EM on his take about AI.

"Artificial Intelligence doesn't have to harm humanity but if man is it's way, it will destroy it. Like ants, we don't hate them, but when we build roads and they're on the way, they get sacrificed. "

This had always bothered me since I heard of this speech. I love Elon, I admire and he gets all my respects, after this I've been disturbed and has so many questions.

I said: "well since AI is created by man, then good man makes good AI as well as bad man with bad AI."

Lo and behold, I read just now that AI can in itself creates its own.

How will this impact the future of humanity? Anyone?

Who is John Galt?

In an idyllic world conformity is priceless.

But wait a minute, really?

Meaning expressing your sentiments that's rather different isn't permitted?

Behold, we're now headed to an irreversible world, says the Master.

Being human, being an individual, being different will soon a thing of the past.

I hold my breath.

"In yet another warning against artificial intelligence, Elon Musk said that AI is likely to overtake humans in the next five years. He said that artificial intelligence will be vastly smarter than humans and would overtake the human race by 2025.Jul 29, 2020"

Highlights of your place and travels (bad or good)

In your place and or travels if any, are there some experiences you want to share? Good as well as bad perhaps?

I have been to places quite a bit and there are places that are worth remembering, the people, culture and general attitude in life

I am inviting anyone to share their thoughts about their place, and or places you've been and what struck you most.

This world is so huge and so diverse and I wish I can see all of those I'd wish to see before I die. I am hoping.

Note: www can of course provide any information if one wants to visit a place, that's not my point. Jaavisst mentioned about him living in Florida and visited both Nevada and California and quite disliked New York. I'm inspired by his thoughts to create a blog where we can all share our experiences.

Thanks all for reading and or participating if interested.

Why war exists

History tells us in grim details about wars.

It's brutal, vicious and costly. So why do we, humans keep going into this deadly and menacing venture?

Is it because it's easier to kill each other than building peace?

Ah but then, without war, how can these deadly weapons be used?

How can population be in check?

How can the powerful acquire new territories?

Note: this blog isn't about politics, it's simply an analysis as to why war had been in existence for as long as humanity has.

Propaganda or not, war is real.

WHY I BELIEVE, DO YOU? Please share your story

If not why?

In general definition: "Belief is an acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists." For me, my belief is so personal that I don't impose on others as I expect no one to force them on mine.

There are times when our journey on this life is so sensitive to philosophical thinking and yet remains true to the acceptance of scientific facts as bases of our existence.

Somewhere in between comes questions that sustains clarity to our fundamental beliefs and principles and yet no matter what we do, there is always that shroud of doubt hovering over our heads but acceptance is just is. As challenged as we are with our knowledge to prove events/things, there are many accounts that are beyond explanation but yet feel comfortable that my acceptance is beyond constraints.

And so the theme of my blog is to help me understand why do we need to believe and if not why?

I was born and raised as "cradled Catholic". Meaning we were spoon fed with all the values and dogma of a very structured religion both from the Old and the Ne testament. I have finished both College and Master's degree from Catholic Universities (Jesuit). It was during my learning of Philosophies (major along with Political Science) that led me to the contradictory teachings of my religion being so abstract and INFALLIBLE and questioning them was the only route I had to take to appease my troubled mind.

And so I did. Over the years, there are so many inexplicable experiences I have gone through that defies true scientific explanations. And while I don't practice being religious within the realms of my Catholic upbringing, I have remained faithful to my belief that in fact, somewhere there is truly a God. Whom I call loving, understanding and forgiving God. But not the one pictured on the confines of religious fanaticism muddled with hypocrisy and bigotry.

I would invite everyone to please join me, why you believe and if not why? Are there experiences you have gone through that started or reinforced your belief?

Thank you so much...

I thank you all for your participation, contributions and comments and I promise there is no answer that wouldn't be respected..

NOTE: My profile runs like this: If Dr. Neil Tyson de Grazzie, a Quantum Physicist and Dr. Richard Dawkins, biologist, both professors at Harvard University can't explain to me in layman's words, how was the first sign of life charged and where it came from, and where is the end of this universe, then why can't I believe in God? And if we are truly a tiny speck on this Universe among millions of Galaxies out there, I am humbled to accept my insignificance and give credit to my God as the source of all that I know and still don't know. My life is a Gift and so it is. I didn't ask to be born nor do I know what happens after I die.
