What good a friend are you for if in the direst of needs you aren't there?
Can you share what your beliefs are on friendship? Or better yet, who are your friends?
Here is my story. I have only three friends, I mean real good friends. One is going on for the last 45 years, met her in College. Still going on very strong. She lives in another State but we see each other at least twice a year. Call each other every now and then.
The other is 40 years, met her right after I landed my first job as a University professor. She lives in Switzerland and see each other once every two years. She comes here in the US while I go to Europe alternately. She is rich and just travels but very accommodating. (she introduced me here at CS, she writes poetry and almost forced me to be a member here, long story) Anyways, the third one is about 15 years now. All I can say is that these friends are ready to offer their lives if it is needed. At least that is how I feel and do the same on my part if I am needed.
I can't see nor feel the comepleteness of life without them friends.

A most controversial and perhaps volatile meeting between Un and Trump.
I'm sure the whole world is waiting.

This is appalling to me. How he got by over the years and only now that women has the collective effort to come out and expose their individual experiences with such an evil man. That is 37 years and who knows what else before that.
Power and money, this man has wielded any law to make him free. I can imagine, how these poor souls, young and striving to have a financially secured future, cringed to their stomach as they got their breast fondled, forced their mouth to his d*ck and do that filthy, dirty job, just to have it all.
Justice, where was it? folded up in his pocket. For so long.
Now that he is old and has hurt so many, he now seeks therapy? What a joke.
Your perception is a reflection of who you are.
We're all capable of love as well as hate.
I hate terrorism and I wish peace reigns.
I can't wait for it to be completely exposed.
Let's see what's up in the air.
How disturbing and contemptible these activities are.
Or why not?
Man by nature is competitive. In every field whether in sports, career, love or any endeavor.
Today, the most evident proof of man's craving for competition is towards the rule of military- political and economic supremacy of the world. History proves that this is the best test laid out challenge promoting the continued and endless effort to man's voracious urge to compete.
We are born to compete, even unto ourselves. Sometimes our goals are directly set in order to prove that we are indeed capable in achieving beyond our established norms.
There are two major need for competition set by nature for man. The need to survive and the need to rule.
I am very inclined to elaborate and discuss more on the latter as the progressive mark of our society is etched on the very road for the need to rule.
Evidently our world is getting on the verge of once again, testing who gets the most effective weapon for destruction and annihilation. After reading all the articles on the very nature of man's crucial effort to survival, I was amazed at the new discovery that Science today is the ultimate road to test our human ability for competitive struggles. The biggest expected reward is the result of supremacy as the most adept will rule the world. Mostly weapons of mass destruction. Very rife for testing.

But the truth of the matter is that all of us, know one way or the other the simple yet factual nature of our need to compete. We see it in our family, our children and our friends. But on this blog, I would love to hear your opinions on this regarding the new wave of GLOBAL RIFT going on in the world.
If you think that we are not on the verge of this big battle for supremacy, why so?

Haven't we progressed to be a society, country, and globally of civilized, loving, kind and compassionate people?
Haven't we attained a certain degree of understanding, intellectual and compassionate unity to accept that after all religious differences is truly not a cause to harm and to hurt other people?
Obviously not. Below is a copy of the result of the Human Rights Study, that covers all kinds of religion and it is truly mind boggling why it is on the rise. While this report is based on a 5 years old study, I do personally feel that lacking of acceptance and understanding of others belief and religion do cause so much rift among mankind even today.
When I was in Australia last year, which house the biggest group of Muslim (asylum seekers) sect, I observed a rather, alienating feelings and discontent from the citizens due to their transparent and powerful exhibit of their strong belief of which is very different from the Christian based citizens. Whether or not this will grow into a major problem, I don't know but perhaps some of our members here will share their opinion?
Can we shed a little understanding and what would you do if you had the power, authority to change such a growing intolerance?
Will we ever achieve a true friendly and compassionate relations regardless of our religion? Or perhaps, truly all wars are indeed caused by this rift?

I have mixed feelings when I read about the verdict of Bill Cosby last night. First off he is very old, second he truly symbolized the most ideal father like persona each of us had come to admire and emulate during the early 80s and on.
But in reality, I can't ever fathom what he has done and how he did it. Most evil act of manipulating and abusing his victims.
I mean, was he all that good on projecting the kind of a person as a dad and as a husband on his show just to please us for money?
I am so sad for his victims and yes, he deserves to pay the price and even that is not enough.
What a cruel world.
