~ The Perfect Girl ~

A friend asked a gentleman how it is that he never married ?

Replied the gentleman, “Well, I guess I just never met the right woman … I guess I’ve been looking for the perfect girl.”

“Oh, come on now,” said the friend, “Surely you have met at least one girl that you wanted to marry.”

“Yes, there was one girl .. once. I guess she was the one perfect girl .. the only perfect girl I really ever met. She was just the right everything .. I really mean that she was the perfect girl for me.”

“Well, why didn’t you marry her?” asked the friend.

“She was looking for the perfect man,” he said.

Will you be the one?

Is there one chance to find
The kind
Of love that fills you up,
Body and soul,
The whole.
The kind that ebbs and flows
With the passage of time,
A rhyme
Of passion's melody.

A love that 's meant to be.
The song of you & me.

How will I know
To show,
The me that's deep inside.
How will it feel
To reveal
The essence of myself.
Will you give me your heart,
Be a part
Of all my waking days.

A love that's meant to be.
The song of you & me.

Do you dwell in my dreams
As it seems
I'm destined to believe.
Or can we reach out and touch
So much,
Space and time cannot deny
Our potential to be
The "we"
That's escaped our lonely hearts.

A love that's meant to be.
The song of you and me.

Will you whisper my name,
The same,
Tomorrow as today.
Holding hands as we walk,
And talk,
And laugh & live & love.
The first thought I wake to,
quake to,
The very air I breath.

A love that's meant to be.
The song of you & me.

As the years pass me by
Will I
Ever know this blissful peace?
Be all that you need
To feed
The hunger in your heart.
When it's all said and done,
Will you be the one.
When at journey's end,
Will you still be my friend...

Will you be the one?

Get Your “Om” On...

Overloaded with work, groceries, laundry, car pool and 150 other obligations? We get it. But if you think your schedule is too jam-packed to accommodate some downtime, think again. “People say, ‘I’m too busy for antistress techniques,’ but when you practice relaxation, you become more efficient at all your other tasks,” says Bruce Rabin, MD, Ph.D., medical director of the Healthy Lifestyle Program at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. “By investing in yourself, you actually create more time for yourself.”

So take ten to get Zen every day using the tension tamers below. You’ll feel calmer, think more clearly, have the blues less often and just enjoy life more.

Breathe right The way you take in O2 can directly influence your physical -- and mental -- tension levels. Shallow breathing (from your chest) actually causes shorter, more restless brain waves, while deeper breathing (from your abdomen), causes longer, slower brain waves that make you feel relaxed and calm. Deepen your breathing with this Healthy Lifestyle Program exercise: Place one hand over your belly button and one on your chest. Inhale, counting to 4 very slowly, making sure to feel more movement in your belly than your chest. As you exhale, count backwards from four very slowly. Repeat three to four times.

Create a giggle box “There’s an area of the brain that becomes active when you think something is funny, and it’s wired to the brain’s stress area,” Rabin says. “When you activate the humor area, you suppress the stress area.” Keep sidesplitting ideas at the ready by thinking of things that make you laugh and placing them in an imaginary box in your mind. When stress strikes, open the box and access a giggle.

Strike a pose The cobra pose not only boosts your back strength and enhances flexibility, according to California-based yoga instructor Stacey Lei Krauss, but it also melts tension right where it lives -- in your upper back, neck and shoulders. Begin lying face down on the ground with your hands by your sides. Bend your arms and press your palms down, underneath your shoulders. Press down on your hands and straighten your arms. Your hips should stay relaxed as you slowly shift your gaze upward and arch your back. Hold the position for a count of five, and then slowly lower down. Repeat three times.

Pick a perfect mantra Whether it’s “All will be well,” “God loves me,” “I’m in control” or “Every little thing is gonna be all right,” find a phrase that fortifies you emotionally. Practice saying it, or better yet, chanting it (Gregorian tune optional) when you’re happy. “You’re creating a Pavlovian response so your mind will associate your chant with being calm,” Rabin explains. “Then when you’re tense, think of the chant, and your mind will automatically associate it with the happier time, and you’ll immediately calm down.” There’s no right or wrong chant -- and no singing credentials are required.

Find your sacred space Think of it as an emotional refuge, a place you go to hop off the treadmill that is your life. And it doesn’t have to be a Buddhist shrine in your living room -- or any physical space at all. It can be something you do, like sitting on a plush meditation pillow, lighting a scented candle (try lavender, eucalyptus, bergamot or sandalwood), holding a photo of a beach, a nature scene or any positive memory. The trick is to find the self-soother that works for you. And the more you practice it, the faster you’ll unwind each time.

The Revelation of the Secret of Happiness

While meditating, I wanted to know who was happiest on earth and I had the vision of traveling to different places and for some reason, I found myself at a mansion, a house of many rooms; this house did not lack anything but had everything modern and in abundance. Then, I could feel the hearts of the persons, the owner of the house wanted more wealth and I could see that he was hardly home, he traveled a lot, looking for something more and his mind was busy in reaching fame and fortune. I could also see that the lady of the house, enjoyed of gatherings and her main worry was not about the reunions but about the clothes that she would wear and how the others would see her. She needed to show her power and control.
I also saw the heart of the children, they hardly knew their parents, they were addicted to buying and using new things and then, they would feel very bored and they felt Jeaoulosy among themselves.
I left the house while thinking that it was good that they were successful but there was something about them that did not seem that good since they were always unsatisfied, looking for something more and they were never happy.
Then, I went to the other side of the city and found myself in something that was almost like a house, it seemed very poor and there was a family inside, they were together and were eating; and the father was saying:
“Let’s give thanks to God for our health, for been together, sharing this food.”
I saw that their food was simple, there was no abundance, only what was needed. I could also see the hearts of the members of the family, where a light was shining. And I asked the light: “Who are you? I can see that this family has peace and unity.” And the light answered:
” They also have joy and faith.”
“How is that possible?” I asked. And the light said:
“You will not be able to see their wealth with your eyes, but you will feel it and you will understand the wealth in them because they accept themselves, they make the effort and with natural humility, they value and feel grateful for what they have, then, they have more than wealth, they have the revelation of the secret of Happiness.”
And I kept listening in my heart:
“To accept, to appreciate, to be grateful”
Then, I understood, who was happiest on earth.

Dare To Believe

Once in a while you do get some really touching good emails from friends. Here is one such mail that I got this week and I liked it. I thought I would share it with you all.

EVERYBODY KNOWS …

You can’t be all things to all people.
You can’t do all things at once.
You can’t do all things equally well.
You can’t do all things better than everyone else.
Your humanity is showing just like everyone else’s.

SO …

You have to find out who you are, and be that.
You have to decide what comes first, and do that.
You have to discover your strengths, and use them.
You have to learn not to compete with others,
Because no one else is in the contest of “being you.”

THEN …

You will have learned to accept your own uniqueness.
You will have learned to set priorities and make decisions.
You will have learned to live with your limitations.
You will have learned to give yourself the respect that is due,
And you’ll be a most vital mortal.

DARE TO BELIEVE …

That you are a wonderful, unique person.
That you are a once-in-all-history event.
That it’s more than a right, it’s your duty, to be who you are.
That life is not a problem to solve, but a gift to cherish.

THE TIME PARADOX

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings, but shorter tempers; wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints; we spend more, but have less; we buy more, but enjoy it less.

We have bigger houses and smaller families; more conveniences, but less time; we have more degrees, but less sense; more knowledge, but less judgment; more experts, but more problems; more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry too quickly, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We’ve learned how to make a living, but not a life; we’ve added years to life, not life to years.

We’ve been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbor. We’ve conquered outer space, but not inner space; we’ve done larger things, but not better things.
We’ve cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul; we’ve split the atom, but not our prejudice; we write more, but learn less; we plan more, but accomplish less.

We’ve learned to rush, but not to wait; we have higher incomes, but lower morals; we have more food, but less appeasement; we build more computers to hold more information to produce more copies than ever, but have less communication; we’ve become long on quantity, but short on quality.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion; tall men, and short character; steep profits, and shallow relationships. These are the times of world peace (?), but domestic warfare; more leisure, but less fun; more kinds of food, but less nutrition. These are days of two incomes, but more divorce; of fancier houses, but broken homes.

These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throw away morality, one-night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill.

It is a time when there is much in the show window and nothing in the stockroom; a time when technology can bring this magazine to you, and a time when you can choose either to make a difference, or just throw it away...

If You Could See Yourself Through My Eyes

If you could see yourself through my eyes, you would see strength of steel with a razor wit able to cut an unsuspecting opponent to the bone.

If you could see yourself through my eyes, you would see an iron character able to withstand the most tragic of burdens the most bitter of times.

A man strong enough to lift me up and never let me fall.

Like a massive oak tree with roots that run deep and true.

And yet, in a moment of tenderness you are as weak as a newborn babe on my chest.

If you could see yourself through my eyes, you would see a brilliant mind, able to grasp the most abstract of ideas and process the most complex information to arrive at amazing solutions.

And yet, you still can listen and see brilliance in me when I have not even seen it in myself.

If you could see yourself through my eyes, you would see an exterior like a calm ocean when there is not even a breeze.

And yet, below the surface lies a raging beast waiting to be released in a flood of passion and love.

I long for the day, with hope in my heart, to be the one to release the chains and experience all that comes my way.

If you could see yourself through my eyes, you would see the one who anchors me, inspires me, motivates me, and loves me in a way I’ve never known before.

If you could see yourself through my eyes, you would see everything I also want to be.

All of my love, for all of my life! Just for you baby...

~ A friend sent me this message ~

You have to find someone who will grow with you, change with you, laugh with you and cry with you. A person who fills in where you lack. A person whom you can fill in for when they are lacking. But what about the perfect person, you ask? They do not exist. There are no perfect people, only people who are perfect for each other. You deserve to be happy not in the arms of someone who keeps you waiting, but in the arms of someone who will take you now, love you forever and leave you never.

~ Top 10 Answering Machine Greetings ~

10. My wife and I can't come to the phone right now, but if you'll leave your name and number, we'll get back to you as soon as we're finished.

9. Hello, you are talking to a machine. I am capable of receiving messages. My owners do not need siding, windows or a hot tub, and their carpets are clean. They give to charity at the office and don't need their picture taken. If you're still with me, leave your name and home phone number and they will get back to you.

8. This is not an answering machine - this is a telepathic thought-recording device. After the tone, think about your name, your number, and your reason for calling.... and I'll think about returning your call.

7. Hi! John's answering machine is broken. This is his refrigerator. Please speak very slowly, and I'll stick your message to myself with one of these magnets.

6. Hi. This is John: If you are the phone company, I already sent the money. If you are my parents, please send money. If you are my bank, you didn't lend me enough money. If you are my friends, you owe me money. If you are a female, don't worry, I have LOTS of money.

5. A is for academics, B is for beer. One of those reasons is why we're not here. So, leave a message.

4. Hello! If you leave a message, I'll call you soon. If you leave a "sexy" message, I'll call sooner.

3. Hi. Now YOU say something.

2. Hi. I'm probably home, I'm just avoiding someone I don't like. Leave me a message, and if I don't call back, it's you.

1. Hello, you've reached Jim and Sonya. We can't pick up the phone right now, because we're doing something we really enjoy. Sonya likes doing it up and down, and I like doing it left to right... real slowly. So leave a message, and when we're done brushing our teeth, we'll call you back.

~ Love Me ~

Love me in the Springtime, when all is green and new,
Love me in the Summer, when the sky is oh so blue,
Love me in the Autumn, when the leaves are turning brown,
Love me in the Winter, when the snow is falling down.
Love me when I'm happy, and even when I'm sad,
Love me when I'm good, or when I'm oh so bad,
Love me when I'm pretty, or if my face is plain,
Love me when I'm feeling good, or when I'm feeling pain.
Love me always darlin', in the rain or shining sun,
Love me always darlin', after all is said and done,
Love me always darlin', until all our life is through,
Love me always darlin', for I'll be lovin' you!
