Roe v. Wade and deadly leftist illogic

First go after babies in their wombs, and now justices in their homes. The logic of attacking the justices comes inevitably out of the logic of Roe. As Aristotle showed us, logically valid reasoning based on false premises leads to false conclusions and wrong actions: "illogic" in practice. So we now see yet another result of the logic of Roe, and Casey even more. Here it helps to see its source — not from great sages like Socrates and Confucius, or prophets like Moses, Jesus, or Muhammad, but from the existentialist thought of Jean-Paul Sartre and his enamorata Simone de Beauvoir, French public intellectuals post–World War II. Sartre set out the principles, and Beauvoir applied them in her book The Second Sex, the wellspring of contemporary women's liberation.

In his "first principle of existentialism", Sartre skipped over plants and animals and compared humans to an inanimate object:

Consider ... a book or paper-cutter. One cannot postulate a man who makes a paper-cutter but does not know what it is used for. For the paper-cutter, essence ... precedes existence. Now if we conceive God as Creator ... the concept of man in the mind of God is like paper-cutter in the mind of the artisan. But in atheistic existentialism, which I represent ... there is at least one being in whom existence precedes essence, a being who exists before he can be defined by any concept, and this being is man. ... This means, first of all, that man exists ... and only afterwards defines himself ... he himself will have made what he will be. Therefore, there is no human nature, since there is no God to conceive it ... man is what he conceives himself to be ... after his thrust into existence.

Beauvoir, a better writer, put the same point succinctly: "One is not born, but rather becomes, a woman." She did not say 'becomes more a woman,' but says simply "becomes a woman," because she is not really a woman from birth, even though born with a female body. Likewise, we are not born a human, but create our own essence. So what is a man at first? A sort of "locus of freedom" to choose and act — and, in acting, to create his own essence. This is the illogical but powerful idea still very much with us.

The most powerful and widespread result of Sartrism is in the area of s*xual morality. Sartre's "first principle" that "existence precedes essence" is a fundamental but usually unrecognized source of the s*xual Revolution of the 1960s, the mainstreaming of homosexuality in the 1990s, the endorsement of "gay marriage" by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2015, the distinction between psychological gender and physical sex, and the consequent idea of one changing one's gender at will.

3 bikers and an old man

An elderly man was eating breakfast at a truck stop when some bikers stormed in, obviously all revved up. They’d been riding all day, and now, thoroughly energized, it was time for them to have a little fun and engage in their favorite pastime: brawling.
The three bikers slowly approached the old man sitting alone in his booth. He was the perfect target; he had no one to defend him, and even if he tried to stand up for himself, the bikers were each at least twice his size.

The three thugs loomed over the man’s table and stared at him. They wanted to intimidate him as much as possible. The first biker put out a cigarette in the elderly man’s eggs and sat down next to him in his booth.

The next biker picked up a nearly full glass of milk the old man was drinking and put it to his lips. He spit directly in the man’s drink, and casually took a seat at a nearby table, smirking at what he had just done.

The third and final biker picked up the entire plate of food the old man was eating and dumped it onto the ground. He laughed loudly and then sat down directly across from the old man, who was now, understandably, looking worried.

The old man looked at each of the three thugs who just ruined his breakfast and gave a big sigh. There was no use in fighting with them. He didn’t want trouble, and so he silently paid for his breakfast and left the diner.

The bikers all grinned as they watched the old man slowly make his way out of the diner and walk slowly toward the parking lot. One of the them turned to the waitress and sneered, “I guess he’s not much of a man.” The other two erupted in laughter.

The waitress paused for a moment, looking out the window. Then, she replied, “He doesn’t seem like much of a driver, either. He just hit three motorcycles while backing out.” The bikers all sprang to their feet and watched in horror as the old man sped off while their three bikes were left in pieces!

Teachers unions are indoctrinating kids — with Biden’s support

Schools are becoming indoctrination factories, trying to turn children against their country and their own parents’ values. It’s what the teachers unions intend.

Amazingly, that’s just fine with President Joe Biden, who told a gathering of teachers and union bigwigs last week that kids are “yours when they’re in the classroom.” That wasn’t one of those Biden stumbles. He repeated it for emphasis. “They are all our children. They are not somebody else’s children. They’re like yours when they’re in the classroom.”

Sorry, Joe. But parents have a right to know what their children are being taught and to set limits. State legislators in at least 12 states have introduced bills requiring educators to post teaching materials, including books and videos, on a Web site for parents to inspect before their kids see them.

Good teachers will have no problem with that. But ideologically driven teachers, as well as the unions, are fighting back. That includes Randi Weingarten, head of the American Federation of Teachers. As she launched Teacher Appreciation Week — and most teachers do deserve our appreciation — Weingarten smeared classroom-transparency requests as the work of “political extremists.”

Concerned parents are not political extremists, but Biden is joining the attack against transparency, parroting the unions. He and most Democrats in Congress are teachers-union flunkies. Democrats delivered hundreds of billions in COVID relief to school districts, reportedly including $46 billion to teach critical race theory — with $9 billion for CRT in New York schools.

Biden also kowtowed to the unions to prolong school closings and masking and then allowed the unions to dictate what the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention would require to reopen schools.

As a candidate, Biden vowed to end federal support for charter schools, and his new regulations have that obvious goal, another obsequious gesture to the unions.

Weingarten and National Education Association chief Rebecca Pringle probably have more power in the Biden administration than any senator or cabinet member. That would be fine if they were wielding their clout to ensure children acquire strong reading and math skills. That’s not their agenda.

The AFT Web site shows the union is more committed to political activism than reading and science, technology, engineering and math instruction. The site urges visitors to “take action” on student debt, voting rights and passing the Equality Act. It never mentions that fewer than half New York City’s third to eighth graders can read at grade level. Or that overall, US students rank behind dozens of other countries in math. No call to action there.

The Web site declares that the United States is facing health, economic and racial challenges “all made worse by Donald Trump.” How can the 74 million people who voted for Trump entrust their children’s education to an organization so politically biased?

Joining the unions to fight a parent’s right to know is none other than the Democratic Party. No surprise: Teachers unions give 94% of their donations to Democratic candidates and parties, according to Open Secrets.

US Army Reduces Its Numbers as It Struggles to Find Recruits Who Want to Enter Military Under Biden

In 2021 Joe Biden abandoned US bases in Afghanistan and armed the Taliban with $80 billion in US military equipment.

13 US military men and women were slaughtered by an Islamic terrorist Joe Biden let out of the prison at Bagram Air Base.

Last year, in 2021, the US military targeted Republican naval officers with phony investigations to get them kicked out of the US military.

Democrat lawmakers used the anti-American hate group SPLC and “cancel culture” to attack members of the US military.

The Biden administration imprisoned several US veterans for participating in the protests on January 6, 2021, including US veterans who never entered the US Capitol that day.

Joe Biden faced a massive class-action lawsuit over his vaccine mandates for the US military.

So it should be no surprise that the US Army is struggling to find recruits who want to enter the US military under the current regime.

The Army this week admitted it was having problems recruiting and announced an unprecedented reduction in its numbers that would shrink the active duty Army to its smallest size since World War II.

“We’re facing, obviously, some challenging conditions in terms of our ability to recruit and attract talent,” Under Secretary of the Army Gabe Camarillo said at a press conference on Monday.

Camarillo blamed a “very tight labor market” for the Army’s recruiting woes.

“What we’re just seeing is given the particular conditions of a very tight labor market, our ability to meet all of our projected recruiting goals were a little bit challenged in FY ’22 and FY ’23,” he said.

Camarillo said the Army’s end strength, or total number of forces, would go from 485,000 soldiers currently to 476,000 in fiscal year 2022, which ends in September, and further down to 473,000 in fiscal year 2023.

Vladimir Putin set to vanish for cancer surgery, mystery Russian Telegram account says

Vladimir Putin may soon vanish for a period as he is due to undergo surgery linked to cancer, according to a new claim.

He has allegedly secretly nominated his hardline security council security secretary Nikolai Patrushev - a former KGB counterintelligence officer - to take “control” of Russia while he is incapacitated.

Shadowy Patrushev, 70, is seen as a key architect of the Ukrainian war strategy and the man who convinced Putin that Kyiv was awash with neo-Nazis.

The extraordinary unconfirmed claims come from General SVR Telegram channel, which first raised issues of Putin’s health - including abdominal cancer and Parkinson’s - some 18 months ago.

They come amid speculation that Putin will announce all-out war in Ukraine, and order mass mobilisation of military-age men. Such a move would be seen as high-risk since many may refuse to fight.

It is suggested Putin, 69, has already delayed surgery, which is now unlikely to take place before he presides over the grandiose Red Square 9 May Victory Day commemoration of the defeat of Hitler.

The surgery had been scheduled for the second half of April but was delayed, it was claimed.

Biden blasted for policing free speech with ‘dystopian’ disinformation bureau

Oh, (Big) Brother!

President Biden came under fire Thursday for the creation of a “dystopian” disinformation bureau created under his Homeland Security department, which critics are blasting as just a way for the government to police free speech online.

Conservatives slammed the Department of Homeland Security’s Orwellian new “Disinformation Governance Board” – with some suggesting the timing is convenient given Elon Musk vowed to make Twitter a free speech haven after his $44 billion takeover of the social media platform notorious for selectively censoring right-leaning points of view.

Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley called the new board a “disgrace” that was designed to “monitor all Americans’ speech.”

Family find

It was just confirmed last night that I have a Son and 2 Grandsons I never knew about.

First of all I am adopted and have since found both my birth Mother's side of the family as well as my birth Father's side.

It started when my half Brother Keith (Father's side) called me and told me according to Ancestry.com I have a very close relative who thinks he is my Grandson. I looked at my DNA relatives and saw where in DNA strength the Grandson's strength falls between 4 of my half siblings and 2 of my half Nieces and 1 half Nephew.

I called the Grandson last evening and asked him to look at his DNA relatives and see if he not only sees Keith, but also sees Bruce, Lisa, and Karen, all on my birth Mother's side. He said yes. They all are 2 generations away from him. His Father was also adopted and I spoke to him (my Son) Sunday.

I have never been married and until now have never had any known children.

Ain't life grand ?!?!

EXCLUSIVE Twitter set to accept Musk's $43 billion offer - sources

NEW YORK, April 25 (Reuters) - Twitter Inc (TWTR.N) is poised to agree a sale to Elon Musk for around $43 billion in cash, the price the chief executive of Tesla Inc (TSLA.O) has called his "best and final" offer for the social media company, people familiar with the matter said.

Twitter may announce the $54.20-per-share deal later on Monday once its board has met to recommend the transaction to Twitter shareholders, the sources said. It is always possible that the deal collapses at the last minute, the sources added.

Musk, the world's richest person according to a tally by Forbes, is negotiating to buy Twitter in a personal capacity and Tesla is not involved in the deal.

Twitter has not been able to secure so far a 'go-shop' provision under its agreement with Musk that would allow it to solicit other bids once the deal is signed, the sources said. Still, Twitter would be allowed to accept an offer from another party by paying Musk a break-up fee, the sources added.

The sources requested anonymity because the matter is confidential. Twitter and Musk did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Twitter shares were up 4.5% in pre-market trading in New York on Monday at $51.15.

Musk has said Twitter needs to be taken private to grow and become a genuine platform for free speech.

The deal would come just four days after Musk unveiled a financing package to back the acquisition. This led Twitter's board to take the deal more seriously and many shareholders to ask the company not to let the opportunity for a deal to slip away, Reuters reported on Sunday.

She did WHAT on his side of the bed?

Imagine the worst argument you have ever experienced with your significant other. Now, count yourself lucky that you were not in a relationship with Amber Heard.

Actor Johnny Depp is currently suing his former wife Amber Heard for defamation, and some shocking details have come to light. In his testimony, Depp explained that Heard left a "fecal delivery" on his side of the bed and that Heard tried to blame it on their dogs. Heard eventually admitted to leaving poop on Depp's side of the bed, calling it a "prank."

Steven Crowder discussed this on Thursday's episode of Louder with Crowder. "Context matters," Crowder said. "She did admit to this and called it a prank. After she abused him and left him while his mother was sick? No, that's not a prank."

Crowder added that it is also "disgusting that a woman could do that angrily on command."

Incredible day

Incredible day for me today. Through Ancestry.com I was contacted by someone who appears to be my biological Grandson. His Father was adopted. The possible Grandson is going to gift his Dad with a DNA kit from Ancestry. When his results come in, in about 2 months, I may discover a Son I never knew I had.
