False accusations...

I'm the subject of false accusations on CS... again. Not the first time and my accuser has been the same person who has done this several times over the years.
Probably, two weeks ago, the profile of a regular blogger has gone quiet and the suspicion arose that I'm responsible for reporting this member.

Sorry to burst your bubble... FOR THE RECORD, I had nothing to do with it.

Around the same time his profile status changed, I noticed the disappearance of another member. I came home from meetings to see butcher had last commented on one of my blogs. When I clicked the blog to read his comment, it wasn't there. His profile appears to be closed.

So mysteriously 2 members have gone silent.

My suggestion to the person who is accusing me, is to stop your hate and paranoia. Seek professional help for your condition.

It's expected this blog will fuel another round of hate blogs in retaliation... so be it.

The Hotel California lyrics trial...

In the music news, Eagles band co-founder Don Henley was in court this week over a case where he clams handwritten notes used to craft songs from the 1976 album HOTEL CALIFORNIA had been stolen and sold at auctions. Three collectibles dealers Glenn Horowitz, Craig Inciardi and Edward Kosinski are on trial in this case.

Valued at more than $1 million, the defendants knew the materials were stolen, manufactured false provenance, lied to auction houses, potential buyers and law enforcement about the origin of the manuscripts.

This all started with author Ed Sanders, who had been hired to write a biography of the Eagles, were he allegedly had stolen them in the late 1970's and is said to have sold the manuscripts to Horowitz in 2005, who then sold them to Inciardi and Kosinski.
In this case, Sanders has not been charged with a crime. However, the means by which Sanders got the notes is essentially the question at the center of the case.

Henley testified that he gave Sanders access to his handwritten notes, but he never gave the writer permanent possession.

The attorney who is representing Kosinki, stated the defense rightfully owned the material and therefore were free to sell the papers. He claimed that Henley voluntarily provided the lyrics to Sanders.

The defendants opted to forgo a jury trial and the trial is expected to last for several weeks. The verdict will ultimately be decided by the judge. Obviously a lot at stake.

Hotel California is listed as the third-best-selling album of all time, certified platinum 26 times by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) having sold more than 32 million units worldwide.

Chronic complainers...

I used to think the world was full of chronic complainers, but... the more I looked the more I found, so there must be room for more complainers...

Employee 5...

Brian Butler, aka Trump Employee 5, is a central witness in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents investigation/indictment. Butler, was employed at Mar-a-Lago for 20 years, originally had an attorney provided by Trump, has his own attorney now and changed his story. He has spoken repeatedly with investigators as he unknowingly helped Walt Nauta deliver boxes of classified information from Mar-a-Lago to the former president’s plane in June 2022, headed to Trump's residence in Bedminster Country Club.
In and exclusive interview by Kaitlan Collins of CNN, Brian spoke out about the case and his involvement, stating he doesn’t believe the criminal case against Trump is a “witch hunt,” as the former president has claimed.

Interview here:

It's important to know, Trump's attorney had arranged a meeting with the FBI and that the search was no secret, different to Trump's claim. Also noted, Trump as former president has secret service when he travels and due to the level of top security, both local police and the governor of Florida were also informed of the search.

Need cash? Who ya gonna call...

Trump is in need of quick cash and only a few wealthy people on the planet who can pull from their pocket to help him out on a loan. The Saudi Prince, Jared Kushner, Vladimir Putin, Jeff Bezos, Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, Charles Koch... and Elon Musk of Tesla, SpaceX and Twitter/X fame.

It's reported this past Sunday, Elon was at Mar-a-Lago along with a few wealthy Republican donors to have a private discussion.

Kudos...

I'm thinking about the future and should Trump lose any of his federal cases, he would be officially convicted of a felony. Thus anyone fronting money (as in aiding and abetting) to a felon, it in itself is a crime.

Four more years...

It's been a while since I viewed the work of THE LINCOLN PROJECT and yesterday riz posted one that was very powerful. It's a simulation of what Trump might have said if he were on Truth serum and not Truth social.
He's controlling the Republican party. It's what he wants and not what the party is/was about. They (really) don't like it, but they are powerless to stop it.

I saw Biden's State of the Union address and was really surprised of the focus he had. Of course the detractors said everything they could to shoot it down, like suspicion he was on drugs to muster up all that energy or it was full of lies... maybe you should watch Trump's address from 2020 to see a professional liar. We really need to set a flag on Mars.

Another new video from LINCOLN is about Biden with excerpts from his SOTU address.
"An issue facing our nation isn't how old we are, how old are our ideas?"

Donald who...?

Biden gave the state of the union address last night and have to say Joe wasn't sleepy in the least bit. He was clear, powerful and covered many topics stating facts and figures, especially with border security.
Good job Joe...
I didn't expect them to chant "Four more Years, Four more Years"

SPL Shootout...

I was waiting at a red light yesterday when a guy in an SUV pulled along side of me. The music coming out of his vehicle was so loud, it was making my car thump. I didn't know the (hip-hop) song, but I could clearly hear the lyrics from inside my car with the windows rolled up and the a/c on high.
A friend of a friend owned a car stereo shop who did custom work. By word of mouth, people came from miles for him to install some HUGE systems. Most upgraded car sound systems have special speakers and a sub bass box in the trunk that only plays the low notes.
Some background:
It's usually stated the range of human hearing is 20 to 20,000 HZ (hertz or cycles per second) and there are many factors that affect those numbers. loud sounds for example. Industrial workers in high noise environments are required to use hearing protection. The guys at airports who direct jets into the gate wear noise reducing protection. Loud sounds without hearing protection will accentuate hearing loss. Ask any Heavy Metal musician if he's got hearing loss and their first response could be "Huh?"

SPL is the acronym for Sound Pressure Level and there are metering devices for measuring pressure. I've always heard sound pressure is measured in decibels for music loudness and for the purpose of this blog, any pressure musical or not, is considered the same. Sub-octave sounds below the threshold of human hearing are felt more than actually heard and can be described as pulsating air.

So what's the purpose of a 5,000 watt sound system in your SUV?
It doesn't follow logic, but in certain circles there is status for having 'more bass' much the same as someone on a Saturday night doing racing with the fastest car or the most horsepower.

The shootout is a competition event where vehicles are 100 yards (or more) from the judge who has a decibel meter. They play their best sound with hope of generating more SPL's at the greatest distance.

This style of competitive volume isn't limited to the United States, as many of the photos I've seen are from enthusiasts in European countries.

Because of the high power current draw, the vehicles have to be equipped with several alternators and batteries to generate sufficient wattage.

Ready to Mingle! Join Now to browse Singles!

I cannot recall having the desire to mingle.
Probably 25 years ago, I was on POF and the woman I was dating suggested we go to their dating site advertised meeting at a local restaurant to 'mingle' but my thought was "If we were dating, why would there be a need to mingle?"

Okay, some people like to socialize... I get that, but the meeting wasn't organized. I expected an announcer or someone to greet the members, as they say 'break the ice' with introductions, expectations, locations... maybe not name tags with profile names, but something to actually attract people to converse as a starting point.
Instead, it was some guys or girls who came alone or with a friend and didn't really mingle.
Unsuccessful at best.

Matchdoctor had a small group of members who were on the forums and successfully had a few meet & greet events that worked. I went to one and to my surprise met some nice folks!

One lady was 20 miles from me and working in health care. She was accepted to a nursing program in Alaska and relocated. We messaged a few times and after a few years I lost contact with her.

Hopefully, she found what she was looking for... thumbs up

The Never Trumpers...

For years, Jordan Klepper from the Daily Show brought out the best (and worst) of the mindset in voters. I've seen episodes of him at Trump rallies, trying to find logic with the illogical and how he exposed people with total contradictions in their belief about the candidates.
This episode is about Nikki Haley supporters just days before she suspended her campaign after losing in Super Tuesday.
Titled KLEPPER VS. "NEVER TRUMPERS" Jordan, interviews some die-hard Haley supporters who said they would never vote for Trump again. When asked who they would vote for if Haley dropped out... well, their answers are surprising.

Deciding on a blog category had me thinking. Although it's political, it's also comedy, about society, opinionated, lifestyle and more.
I'll go with entertainment.
thumbs up

The sirens...

I'm a short distance from a golf course. On top of the clubhouse is a weather station with a device for monitoring lightning strikes. I've read that Coral Springs (not far from me) is the lightning capital of the world. It's where marshland easterly winds meet ocean westerly winds, causing temperature and humidity changes.

The weather station system has sirens (that can be heard a mile away) to alert golfers of impending danger.

It was dark when I got up to go walking, only to hear rains and the sirens around 6:30am
Thinking who the fuk plays golf in the dark?
Maybe they should put a timer on that device!

A clip of the weather radar showing the storm this morning. It traveled across the state west to east with most of the rain during the night.

Loyalty pledge...

The Republican National Committee (RNC) required a loyalty pledge from the 2024 presidential candidates to endorse the party's nominee and to be allowed on the debate stage. Trump declined to sign and didn't participate (directly) in any of the debates.

Nikki Haley is the last GOP candidate standing against Trump and said she no longer feels bound to pledge her support for Trump if he becomes the nominee.
Stated in an interview that aired this past Sunday on NBC's show Meet The Press, Haley said: “The RNC is now not the same RNC,” adding “I'll make what decision I want to make."

Hang in there Haley... Trump was found guilty of defamation, corporate corruption and is teetering on insurrection, theft of classified documents and an attempt to overturn the Georgia election.

Who knows, if he goes to jail you will become the Republican nominee with a chance to win the 2024 election against Sleepy Joe. At that point... they will be asking your pledge to pardon Trump's sentence.
