They are probably not talking to each other!

Hello from toasty Denmark.

Yesterday, I got a call from a guy, that oversees jobs to people on benefits. He told me about a possible job at a printing company not far from where I live, called Norlip. They manufacture bags and different packing for the food industry. I told the guy at the other end of the phone, that I was there once before, and that it didn't end well. I had tried the job, but we, as in the boss and I, quickly agreed that the job wasn't for me. He then said "Okay, let's close it there, and I will call you again when I have something else available".

Today I got a call from another guy, who is sitting in the same office as the guy, who called me yesterday. "I have a possible job opportunity for you that I wanted to run by you. It's for a company called Norlip, that manufacture packing and bags for the food industry".. I told him, that I got a call yesterday about that same job. He was all "Really? Who called you about that?".. So I had to name the guy who called me.

Do they not talk together about who they call? Or at least write down that a citizen has passed on the job they are gonna ask about?

It just seems.. I don't know, unorganized.. I wonder if I am getting a call tomorrow about the same job..

In other news: My hand is acting up again. Not a lot, but a tiny bit. I will monitor the situation, and if it becomes worse, I am phoning my doctor. And no, it's not carpal tunnel syndrome

Also, I applied for four jobs abroad. I am gonna have a phone call tomorrow about one of them. Exciting times indeed!

Be good people!

Time to move forward with a friend less.

For a while now, I have been spending a lot of time with someone named Katrina. K, as I called her in the blogs. We have had some great times, and some less than great times. Sadly, the less than great times have been more prevalent, so I was left with a choice earlier today: Do I continue with this, or do I cut my losses and move on?

You might be thinking "What were those bad times?".. Well, let me explain that one! Often times, when we were messaging each other on Messenger, she would all of a sudden chastise me for things, that I normally do. The last time she did that, we didn't speak for five days. Is this really what I want to have in my life? Is this really what I want to use my energy on?

I made my decision a few hours ago. It was time to cut ties, and move on. You, dear reader, might go "Mistake! Apologize, make up and stay friends". I would love to do that, but there inevitably will come a day, when this happens again. So in order to not have to deal with that possibility, it's best that her and I go our separate ways. It has been a long time coming, if I am honest. A few months, at least.

So that's it, I suppose. Will we make up and be friendly again? Maybe. I am not ruling it out. But it all depends on her and if she wants to keep her aggressive side in check.

Hand update!

The nurse at the hospital, told me, that I had to use my hand lightly to begin with, and then gradually increase the load on it. So I did! I played some Nascar Heat 4, which isn't really heavy on my hand, and also watched some YouTube videos as well, just to relax my hand even more. I am happy to say, that is has helped a lot. The pain is almost gone, so I am back to 100% tomorrow or on Sunday. Good timing too, since I am attending a sit down gig tomorrow in Copenhagen with K. I am then spending the night at her place, and then heading home on Sunday.

I am happy!

A trip to the E.R.

It's day three with my hand being in pain. Pain killers didn't really help, so I called up the hotline again, which I was ordered to do yesterday. Well, not ordered.. Or.. Yeah, you could say ordered.. Anyway!

I explained what my level of pain was, and how I managed to get to that stage. The nurse on the other end of the phone, said it might have been a strain, which I suspected as well. She then said, that I was booked in from 10 am on a hospital about an hour from me.

This is what I feared would happen. Now I get to enjoy the Danish health system first hand (no pun intended). There will probably be a few people there, with more severe issues than mine. It's just a hand, not a lung or a broken bone. I am in pain, but not scream-out-loud pain, so I don't really mind waiting. I just don't hope they keep me waiting all day.

Rage activated in 3... 2... 1...

I have a HUGE grievance with certain people. You know the type! It's those asshats who think they know better than every expert on the market. Let's take those people, who sit at home, uttering nonsense like "The government is spying on us, so therefore we must go off the grid asap".. The latest example, is the banning of TikTok, the popular Chinese-owned app, where you can post funny videos for others to enjoy. Recently, fears emerged, that the Chinese government were hoarding data from the app, storing it on their servers, with the sole aim of spying on you. Now, I am fairly certain, that the Chinese government are NOT interested in knowing, what Randall from Birmingham, Alabama, is doing in his free time on TikTok.. That ban is so heavenly stupid, that it really makes me think, that they thought that the easiest way to justify banning the app, was to say that the Chinese were spying on you. I have some news for you: Facebook and Twitter are also, allegedly, storing data about users, yet that hasn't been banned? Why is that? Surely, if they store data about you, that they then use to spy on you, then it would be just as bad? Or is it because TikTok is Chinese and Facebook/Twitter is American?

I also have grievance with the people, who somehow think this whole Covid pandemic is a hoax.. That the disease isn't real, and that some evil overlord is trying to trick us all. One question: What purpose would that serve? For real! What purpose would a virus hoax, that most government bodies agree exist, serve? Also, the people not wearing masks are somehow thinking, that the masks are a form of oppression.. It's a piece of cloth, that you use MAYBE 2 hours a day, at the most. Also, if health professionals use it every day, then why can't you? You don't hear about a doctor/surgeon/dental assistant/military mass death due to a mask that they wear..

These are the facts so far!

No:

Hydroxychloroquine is NOT a treatment for Covid-19
Masks are NOT a form of oppression
You cannot get CO2 poisoning from wearing a mask
Covid-19 is NOT a hoax
The Chinese government are NOT interested in what Randall is doing on TikTok
Christmas is NOT under attack every year
Fox News is not "fair and balanced"
Barack Obama is not a secret Kenyan Muslim
Pizza Gate is NOT a real thing
Denmark is not the happiest nation on Earth
Death metal is NOT about the Devil

Yes:

Masks saves lives
You CAN go out and do some shopping wearing a mask
Trump is a wannabe dictator, who slowly but surely are dismantling the USA
Putin is a criminal
China is a communist state
Bacon is love, bacon is life
WWE is fake

Beirut, Lebanon.

As some of you might have read, a powerful explosion rocked Beirut earlier. The blast was massive! Like - super massive!

Rumor has it, that the explosion was caused by old, confiscated explosive material, which somehow got unstable and exploded. Many dead and even more injured.

Naturally, when things like this happen in the Middle East, people are quick to make fun of it. I think that is absolutely abhorrent! It's no joking matter, guys.

I think I might have messed up my hand.. Whoops.. (part 2)

I reported to work today, and I told the janitor, about my hand. We both agreed that a trip to the E.R would be best, but I had to call ahead to a nurse, who then would decide what my next move was.

I explained what happened, and how my hand felt. I was told, that it might possibly be a popped blood vessel, or maybe a heavy strain to my hand. I was told, that I had to rest my hand, eat some paracetamol, and if there is no change to the pain tomorrow, I am going to call again. Then I might have to go to the hospital, which I REALLY don't hope is going to be the case.

So now I am sitting here in my chair, with something to drink and two paracetamol pills. Hopefully the pain is dampened a bit

I think I might have messed up my hand.. Whoops..

Today, I was told to report to a school, for some janitorial tasks. It is a school I know well, because I spent a few months there as a youth center worker. So I arrive and I get told, to take a seat and relax. The tasks would begin shortly. So I plant my rear in a chair, and wait. 30 minutes later, the work begins. First order of business: Clean underneath some grates. I was up for that, so I went into a shed, to get a crowbar. I am not alone during the tasks. The janitor is also there, so we are lifting up the grate together.

Now, this sucker is HEAVY! Like, properly heavy. At least 50 kilos. We get this lump of steel up against the wall, and it is then I feel a sharp pain in my right hand. I ignore it and start shoveling the dirt into a black bin bag. The pain is still there. I think to myself, that it will pass. But it didn't. When I use my hand, it's not hurting. But when I make a fist with my hand, then it hurts. I hope it's nothing serious, since I need to report at the school tomorrow, for more janitorial duties.

If my hand is still hurting tomorrow, I am calling my doctor to get their suggestion as to what to do. Hopefully they don't say "E.R". That would REALLY mess up my day even more.

My good deed for the day!

On my way home from work, I found a wallet on the ground. There were no bills in it, but strangely, the coins were there.

Ahead of me were two people who were doing some gardening, so I walked up to them, and asked if it was their wallet. It wasn't, but one of them suggested that I looked at the cards in the wallet, to see if I could find some form of ID and an address. As luck would have it, the address were there, so I looked it up on Google Maps, and then I set off to return the lost property.

40 minutes later, I arrived at the house. I rang the door, and waited a bit. I was thinking about leaving it with the neighbor, but before I could do that, the door opened. "Hello. I have found a wallet!".. The look on the guys face was pure relief! He thanked me, invited me inside and then he went through the wallet, to see if anything was missing. Apart from the bills, everything was there. "You need a finders fee", was his immediate reaction. I told him that it wasn't required, but he insisted. I had no other say on the matter, so off we went to the bank. He withdrew some money, and gave them to me, with a "thank you so much!" and a smile! We then went our separate ways, and I felt really good about it!

Change of plan!

Yesterday, I told you about meeting up with K and playing some X Wing. Unfortunately, that will no longer go through. Mainly because I just want to stay home and go to bed early, but also because I can't afford to go. Not until August 1st, which is a few days away. I told K this, and while she was extremely disappointed, she ultimately agreed, that it would be wisest to wait until we both could afford it. So now I have the evening open to do whatever I want to. There are still a few hours to kill before the livestream, so I am thinking I am gonna watch a movie or play a video game. Or look for a job. I think the job hunting is the most important one.

I hate letting people down, even if it's for a small reason. I always, always, always keep my appointments, unless something has come across, that I cannot change. Like the lack of money, for example. Speaking of money.. I placed a pre-order on Cyberpunk 2077, but it has been postponed so many times, that I have requested a refund. Rather refund the pre-order, than letting it sit. I got the email today saying it's been refunded, which is great news. The money will be released within the next 5 days, but hopefully they will come before the 5th day.

Today was good, despite the cancellation of the game event. I found a car key, but to what car? The key had a Hyundai logo on it, but there are lots of Hyundais driving around. I couldn't see any car near the key, so it might have been dropped on purpose or something. We will never know!

Some thoughts.

On my way home from work today, a song came on my playlist that made me think. The artist was Tim Christensen, and the song was called Right Next To The Right One. The first lines are: "What if we were meant to be together. What is you were meant to be the one". That made me think long and hard.

As some of the regular clickers on this blog knows, I had a friend stay with me for a few months. R, as I called her. I ended up kind of falling for her, which I told her. She didn't feel the same way, which was a bummer. She's now dating someone, and I am happy for her. I haven't spoken to her since March. That time was a phone call that lasted for about 30 minutes. Anyway, back to the thought I had today!

You see, I keep telling myself that I am over R. That it is done. Completely over for me. The truth is.. It isn't.. The lines in the song made me think "What if R and I were meant to be together? What if she was meant to be the one for me?".. I will never know if that's true, since she's happy in her relationship (at least that's what I think she is), so I will never get to find out if that really is the case, or if it'll end bad..

Some of you will probably go "But what about K? You go on and on about her!".. While it's true I go on and on about her, I am just not there yet. Will it come? Maybe. You never know..

I need to get those thoughts about R and I out of my head. If I don't, it will eat me up from the inside - again. She is easy to love, hard to forget. I have told her that. Her response was that I had to try harder to get over her completely. One day I might.

What else happened today? Well I applied for a job at the Police force. They are looking for admin employees for their office in the Copenhagen airport. It's a part time temp job, but there is a good chance that it'll be extended. The salary is good as well, so we'll see what happens. Also, when I had to apply for the job, I noticed my small shift-button was sticky - because I spilled a bit of coke on it.. Great! Luckily I have a spare keyboard close by, so I might switch to that.

Also, Mike Pompeo is in Denmark. Or, well, he landed yesterday. He might still be here, I dunno.. The point is.. When he met Jeppe Koefod, Pompeo walked over to Jeppe with an aim to shake his hand. Now, given that we don't have a Covid outbreak here anymore, it would be stupid to shake the hand of a man, who comes from a country where the epidemic is spiraling out of control. So Jeppe patted Pompeo on the shoulder. Well done! We don't really want to risk getting another wave of Covid here!

Community work and other stuff

The community work I have started has been great. Lots of exercise, fresh air and meeting new people. However, today was a bit.. Well, annoying.

I was up at 6.30 am, as usual. Ate some breakfast and left for the place I was last week, which was a school. I am helping to clean it and make sure it looks tip top when the students are coming back. I was told, that the regular guy was going on holiday last week, but he would inform his boss of what had to be done this week. So I am there before I am supposed to start, and I walk into the school. I drop off my things, and I report to the replacement guy at the office.

"Morning! What do you have for me today?", I asked. The reply was "I didn't know you were coming. Nobody told me anything".. So we agreed, that I was gonna pick up the trash around the school, and then head back home again. I was annoyed, but at the same time kind of relieved. An early finish meant being able to sort out some things here at home, which I was quite happy with. So tomorrow I am going to report to the company at 7.30 am, which means up at 6 am! Not gonna be an issue at all, I like getting up early anyway!

In other news: I am currently thinking of writing down keywords for a new short story, that I might develop into something I want to sell to someone. Might! Not sure yet. I still need to have the basics written down. Right now, the story is mostly in my head. Well, the logline is anyway. From that, I need to develop characters, setting and basic plot. It'll be great!
