Job interview and the Air Force came by my house.

Yesterday was the 4th of May, Remembrance of the Dead. In that honor, the Danish Air Force decided to do a fly-over, to mark the occasion. Two of their F-16 Fighting Falcon jets made several passes, right over my house. I love the whoosh that the jet engines make! One was just a regular air force color, while the other looked like this:

The Danish flag! Super patriotic, I know! Anyway, the call sign of this particular jet is E-191. Both jets were super low to the ground. We are talking about 600 metres, or close to that anyway! It's always a fantastic sight to see E-191 in the air. It's being dubbed "The fastest Dannebrog in the World", which is not far from the truth.

Today is the 75th anniversary of Liberation Day. Therefore, the Danish flag is waving from buses and all government buildings. Today also marked the day, where I went to my first real job interview since January 2018! The interview went very well! The job is part time, around 15 hours or so a week, but I have the opportunity to take more shifts, if I want to. Might even do double shifts as well. The job is fairly easy to do: I man the phones and emails, and I have to respond to customer queries about their shopping. It could be something like the items they ordered never arrived, or that some of the items they received were rotten or broken. Emails are also like that. So it's just basic customer service, with no sales. It is exactly the kind of job I am looking for.

I will get a reply on Monday if I have secured the job, but the way the conversation went, I am 99% sure that I am getting it. The conversation was light, full of laughs and extremely positive vibes, so it would really surprise me if I didn't get the job.

We'll see what happens!

"We would love to see you for an interview tomorrow at 1 pm"

Last week, I applied for a part-time job at an online food supermarket, since they were looking for new employees. Today, I got an email saying that they would like to see me for an interview tomorrow, on the 5th of May, at 1 pm. If that time wasn't suitable for me, it could also be on Wednesday. I, of course, said tomorrow, since I really want that job!

The job is very simple: It's customer service, via telephone or via email. They are looking for people who have experience with both, which I have. Mainly from my job in Scotland, and my job in a discount supermarket.

If I get the job, I have the possibility to take a lot of shifts, as they are very busy. People mainly shop online now, so it opens up jobs for people like me. Who needs a permanent job, even when it's part time. Even if I get 20 hours a week, that's a pretty decent salary. But 20 hours a week is 4 hours a day, which isn't a lot. I could just work 8 hours a day for three days, which is 24 hours. That'll net me a great salary, while still giving me a few days off.. But I just want to work as much as possible, so we'll see what happens.

Things are finally beginning to turn for me!

Finally: May the 4th Be With You!

I would never have thought that I would be delighted to get this!

I got paid today, which meant I had to visit my local grocery store, for some much needed upgrades. My old frying pan began to fall apart, literally. The coating on the pan began to separate itself from the metal, so it was time to find something new. I found a pan that was cheap, so it was really a no brainer. I also found a few candles. Well, when I say candles, I really mean those battery powered candles.

So to recap: I got a new frying pan and two new candles - and I was ecstatic about it! Never in a million years would I ever think I would get excited over that! Am I really growing up? Well, no.. Because I also bought a new video game, so there's that.. I also bought some more colas, because I am almost out of it. Those 4 crates I bought have lasted me about 2 months, which is pretty well done, I think. Usually I can drink one crate in about a weekends time. That's 8 cans per day, if you count the weekend as being Friday, Saturday AND Sunday!

I did also get some food, so it's not all just colas and video games. Also, I keep thinking about what I was supposed to do right now, since it's May 1st. The day of my trip to New York. Right now, as I am typing this, I would be nearing the USA, and I believe that it would be around now that I would have to fill in the landing card, and hand it to the flight attendant. Dude, I am SO bummed about my New York trip being cancelled. Whenever i am travelling to the USA again, I am definitely NOT buying the cheapest option! I am gonna get a plain (heh) economy seat. That way, I can get one suitcase with me, and not just a small bag.

But we will see what happens once this covid stuff is over. Who knows how expensive the flights will be then?

Update and other things.

So, it's been a while.. Actually about half a month. I have not been doing anything in particular, just been watching a lot of movies and played a ton of video games.

Here in Denmark, we have a streaming service called Viaplay. They have recently added the entire James Bond collection, so I decided to watch them all - in order. It was 4 days of non-stop Bond action, and I enjoyed myself. So much so, that I have taken an interest in some of the things that Bond likes to indulge in - namely champagne and opera.. Yes, you read that correctly. Opera. I listened to the Tosca soundtrack yesterday, and I liked it. I have also shifted holiday destinations. Instead of going to the US, I will be going to Italy. When? I don't know. It depends on when this Covid stuff will be over, and when I am allowed to travel again.

I am in regular contact with K, and she has gotten a place to live from June 1st, which is so good! I have offered to help out, so I am just waiting to get an OK from her.

Going back to movies for a swift second: I watched the new Chris Hemsworth film. I don't think it deserves all the hype it got. It's mediocre, at best! There is one scene that lasts 11 minutes and 30 seconds, and that is pretty well done. Other than that, it's lacking a bit of that "Yes, awesome" magic.

I need to make some food and see what else Netflix has to offer. If all else fails, I can always put on one of the films I have here.

Rest in peace, my friend!

This blog will be in a different tone than my other blogs. Read on to find out why.

A while back, I was a student at a place called VUC. It's education for adults, and it's for people who never really finished their higher education. When you graduate from there, you can effectively go and get your bachelor's degree. One of the people in my class was a Danish/Swedish/Gambian girl called Grace. Her and I hit it off from the very beginning, and we became super good friends. Even after I dropped out, due to personal reasons, we kept in touch. We met on and off, just to catch up and hang out. Go to cafe's, to the cinema and to dinner. It was always in a friendly manner, nothing else.

When she got pregnant with her first child, I was happy for her. I knew she would make a fantastic mother, and up until yesterday, that's exactly what she was. I am saying that, because yesterday evening, I found out that she had passed away. She was just 33 years old. It's SO not fair! She had everything to live for. She loved dancing in the rain, singing, having fun and just being a free spirit. Now she can be free to roam the field of reeds! Free from worry. Free from being put under pressure and being treated differently. just because she was a person of color.

I will forever miss her. Life is gonna be a bit more empty, now that she's no longer with us.

Rest easy, you fantastic soul!

Day to day activities!

So... Because of this coronavirus thing, I have decided to stay inside, and only go out when I absolutely have to. Like to buy dinner or something. Which is exactly what I did today!

I went down to the food shop, and I got some curry dressing, chicken, bacon bits and some tomatoes. When I got home, I boiled some pasta. I then created what could only be described as the best pasta "salad" ever! So damn good!

Earlier today, I decided to sort and bin some stuff in my bedroom. It now looks a lot better, and not as cluttered. While I was doing that, I had the YouTubes open. I found a playlist called "metal". If you know me, you know that I am sucker for all things metal, so I let that sucker rip through my new sound system. Whoah! It was AMAZING! One of the songs that came on, was by Vermicide Violence, which is one of those parody bands. In this case, it is a deathcore parody band, and they have released a song called 'Coronaviscerated'. It is quite possibly the best thing ever! It's from their upcoming album 'The Praxis of Prophylaxis', which releases on the 17th of April.

Well, at least if you are into metal. If you aren't, well.. You might find this a bit too much. But me, I love it!

I also just found out, that the classic 1985 action film Commando has a Russian remake. It's almost shot-for-shot, and it looks absolutely amazing! The lead guy is called Ivan (because of course he is), and his daughter gets taken pri... Why am I outlining the plot? You already know what the movie is about! Instead of Arnold Schwerce... I can NEVER spell his name correctly.. Schwarzenegger, I think.. Instead of him, the lead is played by Mikhail Porechenkov, who is also directing it. Judging by the trailer, the explosions are bigger, but the acting is bad. Like, properly bad! Plus it looks like something shot in 1989. Amazing when you find out, the film was shot in 2008. I prefer the original, 100%.

Now, I will return to my little hovel, where I live in relative comfort. I'll check in later!

Status of the partial lockdown!

Ever since my quarantine was over, I have been under a partial lockdown. Partial in the sense that I am allowed to go outside, but I choose not to. Mainly because I have been busy doing other stuff. I have taken up writing again. I wrote 7 pages in one sitting, which I am pretty stoked about. I am not ready to reveal what the story is about, but I am writing it as a screenplay. When I reach 75 pages, I will post it online, for people to read and comment. I will not be selling it, unless someone comes to me and gives me a good offer. I have been told, that I have a pretty good way of writing stuff, so hopefully this will also pan out well.

In other news: The Covid-19 situation here is optimistic. We have always been in the green zone, and later tonight, our PM will reveal a plan for a partial reopening of the society. It'll be exciting times, definitely.

I have also begun making plans to see K again. We talked about what we were going to do, once things are back to normal again. We are skipping the cinema, and are moving straight to the home cinema. My new tv and sound system is more than adequate, plus I have a bunch of movies that I haven't seen yet. Speaking of movies.. I got an email from Netflix, where they told me, that they had added Stealth to their library. What a movie that is! It's a LOT of fun, and it's also quite silly. But I love those movies!

Looking forward here, life is slowly beginning to take shape. I doubt that I will travel overseas this year. I want to be absolutely sure, that it's safe to travel, before I do that. But Denmark is beautiful anyway, so I can travel throughout the country. I mean, just LOOK at this:

I hope you're all staying safe out there, and are practicing social distancing!

Quarantine Day 2!

It is my second day of quarantine. I can already feel myself going numb and dumb over this. I decided to play some The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt yesterday, since what else is there to do? I can't even go outside. I HAVE to stay inside.

Under normal circumstances, I would be happy and elated, that I am on a 2 week holiday, but this isn't really a holiday. It's forced time off. I would much rather work than stay home.

My brother came by with my shopping. I only needed two things: 96 cans of coke (4 crates) and some meat, that I would put in the freezer. But as I wrote that down, I thought to myself "Why not go all in? I have to be indoors for 14 days, minimum", so I put down a list that was a mile long. It got quite expensive, but now I have food for some considerable time. My brother might have a slight hatred towards me, because I told him, that I only needed the basics. I did transfer the money to him, so at least it wasn't like he should pay for it. He'll come around. He always does.

Anyway, day 2 of quarantine has begun, and the time as of right now is 8.28 am. I have the whole day ahead of me. A day where I don't know what I am supposed to do.

God I hate this corona virus thing..

Payday means new stuff. Right?

Today is payday. Well, payday for me, at least. I have been wanting to upgrade my TV for a while now, but I have never had the money for it. I do now. I am gonna wait until my roommate wakes up, since he knows more about this than I do, and I am not ashamed to admit that. I do know, however, that the TV is upscaled 4K with HDR 10 and HDCP 2.3. I just need to get the "Yep, it's a good TV" before I buy.

Apart from that, I did some shopping yesterday. Now I have food for a few weeks again, which is fantastic. I don't really eat much, anyway. R once described my diet like this: "It's like you eat air. I have never seen you eat a lot". I am also trying to get a bit slimmer, so that's why I don't really eat a lot. Now, the more observant of you will go "But you bought 96 cans of coke before your quarantine. That's not gonna help", and you'd be right. But I have yet to touch any of the cans. I predict they will last a LONG time. Also, a can every three days aren't exactly bad. I did the math, and 95 times 3 is 285. That means, I will run out in 285 days. 9 months until I have to buy more, IF I stick to my one can every three days thing. Which I think I will!

Quarantine Day 12, 13 and 14!

It's HERE!! THE DAY WE HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR....

Well, the day that I have been waiting for, anyway. It's my last day of quarantine! 2 weeks of quarantine, only broken for a few hours, is almost done. The first thing I will do, is to do the laundry. I have a LOT to launder. At least 6 machines. Although, in my defense, the machines are tiny! I think there's only three large machines worth of laundry. But still, I REALLY need to do it. All my hoodies are there, and I need hoodies!

In my absence from these blogs, I have been busy. Planning things I need to do tomorrow, playing some video games and I have also begun writing a script. What is the subject, I hear you ask? Well, I am glad you asked. You see, in these corona days, it's only natural to write about an apocalypse. Not revealing which type of apocalypse just yet, but rest assured: It has a LOT of booms in it. It's a thrilling horror action story, filled with people you want to kill, people you feel sorry for and there's also a hero. So far, I have written 7 pages, and I need at least 100, before I submit it for review/purchase. I am not expecting anything large, nor am I expecting awards for 'Best New Script', but I do expect some feedback. Positive or negative, it doesn't really matter.

Other than that, life goes on here. The PM came on the TV Monday evening, and basically said, that the life we are living at the moment, will have to continue until after Easter, at minimum. Sharp contrast to the way Trump is handling the crisis in the USA. He wants the country open after Easter. Meanwhile, the country is experiencing its sharpest increase in infected yet. If Trump reopens the USA after Easter, you can expect the crisis to be a LOT worse than Italy. Possibly with millions infected. All because his precious stock market isn't giving him enough money. It's pretty clear, that Trump values money over people. But it's been that way ever since he took office, so not much has changed there.

Alright, back to the good news! Well.. There's bad news as well. I phoned my temp agency, to say that I was fit and ready to work again, starting Thursday. But, there was nothing for me just yet. So I am going to have to wait until they call me with more work.

But for now, I am just gonna enjoy this day. Maybe revisit an old game that I have in my Steam library.

Quarantine Day 11!

Just 4 more days until my quarantine is over! Now that I am on the home stretch, I can seethe light at the end of the tunnel.

Yesterday was good. I spent the entire evening watching movies and a TV show. Spenser Confidential, the first two Riddick movies and I finished off my evening with an episode of The Boys. It killed a few hours, which was exactly what I needed. No video games, no boredom. Just a few hours of fun, horror and just general relaxing.

In terms of the virus, well I have stopped completely with looking at the numbers. It's way too depressing to look at, so I am just using my remaining quarantine days on fun stuff. I want to finish The Boys today. The season is only 8 episodes, so if I start at 11 am, that means I will be done at 6 pm tonight. Yes, that sounds like a plan.

It's a short blog today, mainly because nothing interesting happened yesterday.

More to follow tomorrow :)

Quarantine Day 10!

Wohoo! Almost there!

Yesterday was my fathers birthday, so I broke quarantine to visit his grave. I was picked up by my siblings, in a car. Together we drove to the cemetery, and paid our respects to my father. He would have been 68 this year. This coming October, marks the 2 year anniversary of his death.

Now, being in the middle of a pandemic, I made extra sure to keep more distance between me and everyone else. I didn't bring my mask, because I was not among old or unhealthy people. Besides, we were the only people there, so the only ones I could infect, were my siblings and the dead.

Anyway.. In more lighthearted news: Dizzy Mizz Lizzy dropped a new album yesterday, and my GOD it is good! It's darker and more violent than their other stuff, which I love. Dizzy is evolving from being a hard rock band to a soft metal band, and it suits them perfectly!

I also heard from R for the first time since December 2019. She is now living with her boyfriend, going to school and is busy living her life. I am happy for her, truly. Her biggest wish was to find someone to love and live with, and now she has just that :). Life works out well for her, which she totally deserves.

I am not gonna sugarcoat this: It took me a LONG time to get over her, but I think I am just about there. Not hearing from her for 3 months is the best way to get over her, because I am not constantly talking to her. That helps with the process of getting over her.

Now, back to my quarantine, and what I have been doing! I have played a load of games, but I have also looked into maybe doing some online learning. There is a site called edx.com. They have 2500+ courses from acclaimed institutions such as Harvard, Stanford and MIT. Most of them are free, and can be completed at your own pace. If I am too bored, I might sign up for a course.

The video games I have been playing are Red Dead 2, Farming Simulator 2019 and The Sims 4. I began a brand new game in The Sims 4, because, as you all know by now, my last Sim died in a fire.. Yeah, let's not talk about that one..

So, this new Sim is in the entertainment industry. He has worked himself up from the basic to a serious musician. SO now he has to play a bunch of guitar and learn about pianos. It'll be fine! I am just waiting for my payday, so I can buy another expansion pack. I think I am gonna go for the "Get Famous" pack, and REALLY make my Sim be super rich and famous!

Anyway, for now, that's all from me. I am not leaving without a song, though.. Are you listening? Good! *ahem*

Four days left of my quarantine.
