Wikipedia defines Lucid Dreaming as:
"A lucid dream, in simplest terms, is a dream in which one is aware that one is dreaming."
In this blog I will be detailing my dreams, more specifically my Lucid ones, Ive been a Lucid Dreamer since I was a child and can recall over 100 such occurrences since my teenage years. The ability to recall this number of dreams is, in itself, a feat, but not so hard when you think about it. Each of my dreams back then were recorded in a diary which I kept and I have re-visited many times since. I am no longer in possession of this lengthy journal of surrealism yet my little brain only has to "fetch" back to the last time I recanted the event, not back to the event itself (I digress, this is for my memory blog.. HA!).
Lucid Dreamers seem to think they are alone in this field (excuse the pun) and are often delighted when they find others that share these remarkable events. Many of the lucid dreamers that I have spoken to over the years were not even aware that they were in fact lucid dreaming.
The common factors of lucid dreams are:
* The ability to fly or glide
* Other superhuman abilities (strength, teleportation, phasing through walls etc..)
* KNOWING that its a dream
* Awareness of real world time
Again, on this blog i will be sharing my thoughts and indeed my dreams with you fair people and I would be obliged if you could do the same here :-)
I have often been able to "exit" from my nightmares, if I'm suddenly aware I'm dreaming and i indeed know its going to be a bad one, there are various ways that i can cause myself to wake up, the most popular one is diving straight through a nearby window, the fall always wakes me up, and i have escaped whatever nastiness was about to have me.
Please stay tuned for new updates and discussions on this matter.
