What made of that?cheers
Typically veggies like potato, carrot, turnip, cabbage all boiled up with a chunk of salt beef for flavor. You can also have roast beef and gravy with it if you want.

I am a vegitarian and would try this for sure.
How do u do the gravy?cheers
Just a basic gravy, dripping from the roast along with some browner and thickening agent.

thanks.
Ingredients
Salt beef or pork - 2 pieces
Potatoes - 6
Cabbage - 1
Turnip - 1 medium
Carrots - 6
Onion - 1 medium
Split yellow peas - 1/2 bag
Parsnip - 1 or 2
Pepper - To taste
Butter - 1 tbsp
Instructions

Method:
1- Soak salt beef or salt pork riblets overnight in cold water or boil in large boiler for 1/2 hour then drain, add more cold water to lower the amount of salt on the beef then add 1 medium onion to pot.
2-Pour 1/2 bag of yellow split peas in a pudding bag and tie the top with a string. Soak overnight or Start cooking peas in your pudding bag with salt beef or salt pork riblets for about 1 hour then check to see if split peas are cooked.
(Please note: You can remove the pudding bag from the pot or leave it in the water and add your vegetables with it.)
3-Add cabbage, turnip and carrots to you pot then boil for another 15 minutes.
4-Add potatoes and parsnip to your pot then boil for another 15 minutes or until potatoes are fork tender.
5-When the salt beef or salt pork riblets and vegetables are cooked, remove pease pudding bag from pot then cut the string from bag and pour all peas into a bowl mash with butter and pepper to taste.
6- Remove all vegetables from pot put in separate bowls.

Keep your pot liquid for your gravy or soup broth.

Little note, its better without the onion, onion overpowers the subtleties and individual flavors.
Wow Jhen, I didn’t know you were a vegetarian! I’m not one but I always admire people who are wine
Hi there Mimiwave

My place is where fresh vegetables grow coz its a cold place...my mom used to have a perfect garden where vegetables are cooked in our kitchen. She also sell it in nearby market.applause

So c'mon lets have an avocado vegetable saladcheers
I'm trying so hard to grow an avacado see into a tree. Big failure so far but I'm going to keep trying until I find one to buy.
BTW, here on the cold ocean in Maine, many of us harvest our own fresh mussels when the tide is out. Right off the rocks and seaweed. No sand, few pearls, and fresh, fresh, fresh. Charity lobster bake today at noon by the bay.
OP, I am honored that you would try my spaghetti sauce. You wont be disappointed. My Italian Grandma, who couldn't even speak English, she used to make her own spaghetti, she would roll out the dough with a rolling pin and cut it with a knife. You can't buy spaghetti like that.
