"BER" Months

We are so thrilled at the start of the “Ber” months? Christmas isn’t until more than one hundred days and there are still a few holidays in between such as Halloween.

What are we so excited about? teddybear cheers

Excited as me......

The -ber months are the last four months of the calendar year. They are September, October, November and December.

In the Philippines, the -ber months are significant because they mark the holiday season.

The Christmas season officially starts on the first day of September and runs for four consecutive months. It traditionally ends on the sixth of January, Three Kings’ Day.

@Ysa, when I was young I get to have new shoes and dress on Christmas only. We had legs and legs of ham, beer and other goodies even firecrackers courteousy of my father's Chinese relations. That's why I was all excited for it to come. Guess Christmases are meant for kids alone. At this time when I can buy whatever I like when ever I want it as long as it's within my budget, the excitement of Christmas receded. It has now a tinge of spirituality. Me and my son just pray and eat out on the eve. One surprising thing here in Japan, the unsold Christmas goodies on the eve are being discounted the very next day. A far cry from our motherland where Christmas ends on Jan 6. I could say I'm excited about coming home on a Christmas. But then again plane tickets that usually sell at ¥40,000 to 50,000 goes double during that season and sometimes even more.
